Coffee with Rajinikanth

Coffee with Rajinikanth
Chennai: While theaters in Tamil Nadu are trying to cope with Rajini mania after the release of Endhiran, coffee shops too seem to be capitalising on the fan fever. The Spring, in Chennai, is a cozy hang out for die hard Rajini fans.

The coffee shop is unique for more reasons than one. Not just its looks and interiors that reflect the life and times of Rajinikanth make it special, but the fact that it is built on a land that happens to be Rajini's first ever buy, makes it extraordinary for those who look up to Rajini for inspiration.

"This is the first property he bought with his hard earned money after he became an actor. He has given it to us. We want to make it very special," said R Anand Krishnan the Director of The Spring.

One can feel that they have entered a private Rajini world when they come here. The walls of the coffee shop are decorated with sketches of the myriad faces of Rajini and portraits from his blockbuster movies. Latest entrant Endhiran too now forms a part of it and an add-on is the grab of Sultan the Warrior, Rajini's next in line for release.

Though, Rajini fans keep the coffee  shop buzzing at all times, it is another story when a movie releases. Expecting a visit from their favourite star, the footfalls increase during this time. And not letting his fans down, the superstar too comes to the shop once in a while.

Talking about her affection for the place and Rajini, a fan said "It's nice. I feel like he has done it for you."

"I've always given my phone number to the management every time to give me a call when he comes, I'm still waiting to hear from them," said another hardcore Rajini follower.

One fan even went to the extent of saying that he lives for Rajini. He said "I would just take a picture with him and keep it till I die..."

Rajini fever has always run high on the pulse of Tamil Nadu. This time, going a step forward with Robot, brand Rajini has only got stronger and better.
