Cold Conditions Prevail In Haryana, Punjab

Chandigarh: Cold weather conditions prevailed today in Haryana and Punjab with temperatures hovering below normal levels at most places.

In Punjab, Amritsar was the coldest place recording a minimum temperature of 2.5 degrees Celsius, one notch below normal followed by Ludhiana - 5.9 degree Celsius and Patiala - 8.4 degrees Celsius.

Narnaul in Haryana continued to reel under intense cold recording a minimum temperature of 4 degrees Celsius, three notches below normal level.

Among other parts in the state, Hisar recorded the lowest of 6.1 deg C, which was two notches below normal level, a Met department report said.

Karnal, too, remained in the grip of cold conditions at 7 degrees Celsius minimum. Ambala's low settled at 7.9 degrees Celsius.

The minimum temperature at Chandigarh settled at 7.4 degrees Celsius. However, the residents of the Union Territory woke up to a sunny morning today.

During the past few days, the maximum temperatures, too, have registered a downward trend at most places in Haryana and Punjab, settling in the range of 16-20 degrees Celsius.
