Himachal Pradesh witnessed cold wave conditions in the tribal belt and the high mountain ranges on Tuesday, even as the mercury plummeted further in several parts of the state.
Keylong and Kalpa in tribal Lahaul and Spiti and Kinnaur districts recorded minimum temperature at minus (-) 1.0 degree and 1.4 degree respectively, Met department said.
The mercury dipped to 3.4 degree in key tourist resort of Manali while Bhuntar and Shimla recorded a low of 7.0 degree and 7.8 degree respectively, followed by Una and Solan with 8.0 degree, Sundernagar 8.9 degree, Palampur 10.0 degree and Nahan and Dharamsala 14.8 degree C.
Barring Kotkhai and Seobagh which received 5 mm and 3mm of rains, the weather remained dry but strong velocity icy winds swept the region creating chilly conditions in mid and lower hills, they said.
The maximum temperatures also dropped by one to two degrees and Una in Shivalik foothills recorded a high of 29.2 degree, followed by Sundernagar 27.4 degree, Bhuntar 26.3 degree, Nahan 26.0 degree, Solan 25.0 degree, Dharamshala 24.2 degree and Kalpa 16.2 degree C.
The local MeT office has predicted dry weather in the region over next six days upto November 2.
