Chandigarh:
Narnaul town in Haryana recorded a minimum temperature of 2.4 degrees Celsius on Wednesday morning, making it the coldest place in the region.
Met Department officials in Chandigarh said the cold wave and foggy conditions continued at most places across Punjab and Haryana.
Road, rail and air traffic was affected due to moderate to dense fog at most places.
Chandigarh recorded a high of 11.3 and low of 4.2 degrees Celsius.
Bhiwani and Hisar in Haryana recorded lows of 3.6 and 4 degrees Celsius respectively.
In Punjab, Patiala town recorded a low of 5.5 degrees Celsius while Amritsar and Ludhiana were at 7.2 and seven degrees Celsius respectively.
Officials said the night temperatures could dip further.
