Chandigarh: Narnaul was the coldest place in Haryana today at 2.5 degrees Celsius as cold waves continued to sweep most places in the state and neighbouring Punjab.
Narnaul's minimum temperature dropped by four notches below normal while the minimum temperature at Hisar was recorded at 2.9 degrees Celsius, which was five notches below normal, the MeT Department report here said today.
Similarly, Karnal experienced a cold night at 3.8 degree Celcius, four notches below normal while Bhiwani's minimum settled at 5.2 Degree celcius.
The minimum temperature in Ambala was recorded 5.8 Degee Celsius, down one notch.
In Punjab, Amritsar was the coldest at 3.2 degree Celsius down by one degree while Ludhiana, too, experienced the chill at 3.6 degree Celsius.
Patiala's minimum settled two notches below normal at 5.4 degee Celsius.
The joint capital Chandigarh also reeled under the cold with minimum temperature recorded at 5.7 degree Celsius, one notch below normal. degrees Celsius, one notch below normal.
The MeT has forecast light to moderate rain or thunder showers at few places in the two states over the next three days.
