Rajkot: Two labourers were killed when the fire they lit to keep themselves warm from the biting cold spread and an elderly man died due to the chilly conditions which gripped Saurashtra and Kutch region.
The temperature dipped below seven degrees Celsius in the region on Thursday.

The nine labourers had sprinkled some inflammable chemical on Wednesday night after which the fire suddenly increased in intensity.
Laxman Yadav and Shambhu Shaku suffered severe burn injuries and later succumbed in a nearby hospital while the seven others were admitted to hospital.
An unidentified old man was found dead near Bhavnagar area of the city on Thursday morning and police suspect that he might have died of cold.
Naliya recorded the lowest minimum temperature of 4.7 degrees Celsius while Junagadh city registered 6.2 degrees Celsius followed by Rajkot at 7.2 degrees Celsius.
