New Delhi: The Raghavan Committee, set up to inquire into Aman Kachroo's death, told the Supreme Court that the college and the state government's casual attitude is the responsible for Aman's death.
The committee further recommended the Centre to set up helpline to prevent ragging and also a web portal to track, assess and prevent ragging.
But before that, the Himachal Pradesh government will have to respond to the Raghavan committee report.
Aman's father has welcomed the report saying that there is need to eradicating the disease of ragging.
Ever since they lost their 19-year-old son to ragging, the Kachroos have been on a mission to end ragging on campuses once and for all. And their efforts bore fruit when the SC suspended the accused principal of the school.
But shockingly, Aman Kachroo wasn't the first ragging death under the suspended principal's tenure. In 2002, a student had died mysteriously and two other ragging cases were hushed up.
Slamming the college authorities, the court had directed RK Raghavan to investigate Aman's death and lay down the guidelines to stop ragging.
