A stock exchange filing by a Rajasthan-based company is gaining traction on social media, in which it announced the death of its promoter. In the filing, available on BSE website, AK Spintex said it is is "pleased to announce the death of the promoter."
Some users have posted the screenshot of the company's filing on Twitter.
The company made the error while submitting its corporate registration to the stock exchange on August 25. But in an updated filing two days later, it corrected the "grammatical mistakes".
"Respected Sir, We regret to inform you the sad demise of Smt. Saroj Devi Chhabra (Promoter of Company Holding) 4,41,000 (8.71%) equity shares) Further, the intimation dated 25.08.2022 sent with grammatical mistakes. Hence, this letter supercedes in all respect of the earlier letter dated 25.08.2022 which was sent with grammatical mistakes. You are requested to please take on record the above said information of the company for your reference and further needful," the revised filing said.
But the original notice is being widely circulated online. In it, the company said, "We are pleased to inform that promoter of our company Smt. Saroj Devi Chhabra holding 4,41,000 Shares (8.76%) is no more in this world. You are requested to please take on record the above said information of the company for your reference and further do the needful."
One of the Twitter users who posted a screenshot of this notice said, "Dear investors, the world in a cruel place once you are gone. See how company secretaries using old template/wrong template changes the meaning."
Signatures of the company's secretary and compliance officer on the notice can also be seen in the screenshot shared.
Other users were surprised at the words used in the exchange filing.
"He might made a mistake with "regret to inform" but how he made so serious mistake?? RIP," wrote a user.
Another said, "We are pleased to inform...." Perhaps AK Spintex should consider reducing the work load on Mr. Ashish Kumar Bagrecha" referring to one of the persons who signed the document.
