The Defence Minister condemned the mutilation of a soldier by Pakistan near Line of Control.
Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar today condemned the "cowardly and brutal" killings of three Indian soldiers in Pakistani action in the Line of Control in Machhal sector of Jammu and Kashmir.
"Condemn the cowardly & brutal killing of our soldiers & mutilation of one of them. Salute these brave martyrs for their supreme sacrifice," Mr Parrikar said on Twitter.
Earlier in the day, sources said, Vice Chief of Army, Lieutenant General Bipin Rawat, briefed the Union Minister in detail on the killings in Pakistani action on the LoC in Machhal sector of Kashmir.
This is the second such incident of mutilation of the body of an Indian soldier on the LoC since 29 October.
"Three soldiers killed in action on LC (Line of Control) in Machhal. Body of one soldier mutilated," the Army said. It said the "retribution will be heavy for this cowardly act".
