New Delhi:
The condition of 'Amanat' (NOT her real name) continues to be critical, say doctors attending to her at Delhi's Safdarjung Hospital. They said that her health deteriorated last night, causing concern, but it has since improved.
Complications caused by infection still remain a major concern for the doctors treating the 23-year-old medical student who is battling for life after being brutally assaulted and gang-raped on the night of December 16.
Doctors are monitoring Amanat on an hourly basis, and have noted that her bilirubin levels are still at 7.7, indicating severe infection. They are also boosting her low platelet count via transfusion and say that the key to her recovery is her body's ability to start producing platelets again.
