New Delhi:
As the Delhi Police decided to withdraw the case against Anna Hazare to facilitate his release from jail tonight itself, BJP today kept up its attack on the government saying "it has bitten the dust" and cannot be absolved of the "illegal" act of arresting him.
"The release of Anna no way absolves the government of its illegality and is no way a concession or a pardon extended to Anna for which UPA can pat itself," said BJP spokesman Rajiv Pratap Rudy.
He said "the release of Anna no way condones the act of UPA and they still stand accused of their unconstitutional act of arresting him. The government has rather bitten the dust." BJP also patted itself for raising the issue of corruption inside and outside Parliament.
Rudy said "BJP's crusade against corruption stands vindicated and the upsurge across the country against corruption is the outcome of its stand taken inside and outside Parliament."
