AAP Chief Arvind Kejriwal has termed the elections in Goa and Punjab as 'dharma-yuddha'.

Panaji: Two days after Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal asked Goan voters to "accept money" if offered by the Congress and BJP but vote for the AAP, the Congress has now demanded an apology. Goa will go to polls on February 4.

Addressing a press conference, Congress' spokesperson Trajano D'Mello said, "Kejriwal's appeal to the people to take money from all political parties and vote for AAP is a clear case of inducing people to be corrupt. This is an insult to the sensitive voters from Goa. Therefore, he should apologise to the people from the state."

Demanding the Election Commission to take action, Mr D'Mello said that the AAP chief has expressed his contempt for Goa by stating that he will bring in a Delhi model of governance in Goa.

"Is it going to be a dengue-infected state where while people are dying, the health minister does not feel it necessary to rush back to his territory to take control of the situation," the Congress spokesperson jibed.

"Is it going to be a government wherein the tax payers' money will be diverted for advertisement in other states," he said and further termed the AAP as the B-team of the BJP.

Mr Kejriwal, at a rally in Goa's Benaulim on January 7, had said, "If Congress or BJP candidates offer money, do not refuse it. Accept it as your own money. But when it comes to voting, press the button against the name of the AAP candidate."

The AAP has fielded former Inspector General of Prisons Elvis Gomes as their chief ministerial candidate in Goa.
