Jaipur, Rajasthan: Accusing the Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje of suppressing serious irregularities in allotment of mines in the state, the Rajasthan Congress has decided to submit a memorandum to the Chief Vigilance Commissioner demanding an investigation into the matter in New Delhi tomorrow.
"The state government is trying to suppress serious irregularities in mine allotments. The committee constituted by the government to review the allotment comprises of people who had important role in the allotment, which raises question on its credibility," said state Congress chief Sachin Pilot.
In the memorandum, the delegation would be demanding a detailed probe in the alleged irregularities in allotting 653 mines which caused a loss of Rs 45,000 crore to the exchequer.
Mr Pilot said, "We have been demanding Supreme Court monitored-CBI probe in the issue because the administration had political approval for these irregularities."
The delegation would be led by AICC General Secretary Gurudas Kamat and Rajasthan Congress president Sachin Pilot. Former Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, leader of Opposition in the Assembly Rameshwar Dudi and other leaders would also be present.
