Bhopal:
The Congress on Sunday demanded a Supreme Court-monitored SIT probe into the Madhya Pradesh Professional Board Examination scam, an issue over which it is expected to turn the heat on Shivraj Singh Chouhan government during the budget session of the state Assembly starting today.
Congress spokesperson Abhishek Singhvi said there should be a "thorough, independent and completely dispassionate" investigation into the Madhya Pradesh exam scam within a time frame.
"A Special Investigating Team(SIT) probe monitored ideally by the Supreme Court or at the minimum by the High Court should be constituted," he told reporters in Delhi.
In the MP state Assembly, the Opposition Congress is planning to raise the Examination scam.
"We will raise all issues related to the public with full might in the Assembly." Leader of Opposition Satyadev Katare told PTI in Bhopal.
When asked about MPPEB scam, he said, "All issues in public interest (will be raised)."
During the BJP MLAs' recent training session in Khajuraho, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan directed the party legislators not to remain defensive on the issue as the government has not done anything wrong.
He asked them to be prepared to face Opposition in an aggressive manner on the issue.
The session is scheduled to continue till July 28, during which the state's budget will be passed.
