So what is the Congress game plan now?
The party seems to have decided to sit tight and do absolutely nothing and wait for the anger to die down.
The mass resignations of MPs and MLAs are not going to be accepted by either the Speaker in the assembly here or the speaker in Parliament in Delhi.
The Congress is hoping that the MLAs will come around as they would not want fresh elections and would perhaps agree to some sort of dialogue.
Back channel attempts are also on to build consensus.
