Patna: Bihar Governor Ram Nath Kovind today administered oath to veteran Congress legislator Sadanand Singh as protem speaker of the newly-constituted 16th state Legislative Assembly.
Mr Kovind administered oath to Mr Singh, a ninth-term lawmaker, as protem speaker at a function at the Raj Bhawan.
The 72 year-old pro-tem speaker will administer oath to all newly-elected members of the House which convenes on Monday for its inaugural session.
Congress Vice-President Rahul Gandhi had announced that Singh will be Congress legislature party leader on November 20 when he was in Patna to attend swearing-in ceremony of the Nitish Kumar government.
