New Delhi:
Partner NCP does not share the Congress' antipathy towards actor Amitabh Bachchan.
Maharashtra's Rural Development Minister and NCP leader Jayant Patil has invited Bachchan for a cultural function and to inaugurate a theatre in his home constituency Sangli.
After the Sea Link inauguration controversy and much brouhaha from Congress leaders about the Big B's presence there, Patil has reiterated his invitation.
Saying he wanted Amitabh to come, the minister added, "We have invited him again after he asked for feedback on his blog."
But Patil was also careful not to ruffle any feathers. The Congress should not read anything into this, he said. He made clear that this was an invitation to an artist and had nothing to do with political controversy. "Who else will we call for an artistic function but an artist?" he asked.
