Hyderabad/New Delhi: Ahead of T-day, Chandrababu Naidu's Telugu Desam Party (TDP) has said it will skip Home Minister P Chidambaram's meeting tomorrow. The TDP is the latest entrant in the boycott bandwagon.
The Telangana Rashtra Samiti or TRS, headed by K Chandrasekhar Rao who fronted the campaign for a new state, is boycotting the meeting. So is the BJP. (Watch Chidambaram invites the TRS) .
Tomorrow, Home Minister P Chidambaram will share with political parties from Andhra Pradesh a much-awaited report on the prospect of a new state of Telangana.Chidambaram is scheduled to present the report prepared by the Srikrishna Committee to political leaders. The report will then be made public.
Some of the Congress' senior-most leaders, including Pranab Mukherjee and Ahmad Patel, met with the party's MPs from the Telangana region today.
"I also do not know what is in the report. Experts have gone into the issue (Telangana) in detail. Let us wait for them to submit the report. Let us see what is in it before making comments," said Mr Reddy.
Mr Reddy also said he is not worried about his partymen leaving to join Jagan Mohan Reddy, who today registered his new political party, named the YSR party, after his father who died in a helicopter crash in 2009 when he was Chief Minister.
