The Congress today released its manifesto for the Uttar Pradesh polls. Here are the highlights;
- Ensure full and timely implementation of the UPA govts policy of 4.5 per cent quota for backward minorities
- Sub-quota in the state jobs, educational institutions commensurate with population
- 50 per cent reservations for women in panchayat elections
- School in every village
- High school in every 2500 households
- 20 lakh jobs in 5 years
- Pursue equitable solution of the Babri Masjid dispute. All parties must abide by the verdict of the courts. If negotiations are to be held, they must be between parties to the dispute and must have legal sanction
- Chief Minister to come under Lokayukta
- Appoint a health Lokpal (ombudsman) at the state level to ensure implementation of health schemes.
