Srinagar: The Congress in Jammu and Kashmir has claimed a party sarpanch was killed in a staged encounter by security forces in Anantnag on Thursday.
The Congress has demanded a judicial probe into the killing of Ajaz Ahmad Malik, who was in police custody before he was shot dead in an encounter.
The army, however, said that troops have killed a terrorist at Dooru in Anantnag district.
Mr Mir blamed the ruling PDP and local police for hatching a conspiracy to kill the sarpanch.
