Congress walk out of Madhya Pradesh assembly over student's death

Bhopal: The opposition Congress on Monday walked out of the Madhya Pradesh assembly, charging the BJP government in the State of being insensitive in the matter of a fourth-class student who lost his life after being beaten up by two teachers in the Betul district.

The matter was raised through a calling attention motion by Sukhdev Panse, Arif Aqueel and Ram Niwas Rawat (all Congress) and Ram Lakhan Singh of the Bahujan Samaj Party.

They alleged that Aslam, the fourth-class student, died because of administrative negligence.

The opposition MLAs also said that the two teachers who had been arrested in the case should be charged with murder and a compensation of Rs five lakh be given to the family of the deceased student.
