Farrukhabad: Union Minister Salman Khurshid today brushed aside Anna Hazare's threat to campaign against Congress in poll-bound states if his version of Lokpal Bill was not passed in Winter session of Parliament, saying it would have no effect on the party.
"Social activist Anna Hazare's threat to launch fast against Congress in case the government failed to bring Lokpal Bill in Winter Session of Parliament would have no impact on the party," he said.
"On the contrary, Congress would emerge stronger," Khurshid, who was here in his Parliamentary constituency on the occasion of Dusherra, told reporters.
"Yoga guru Ramdev has also been speaking against Congress... in the past too leaders like Ram Manohar Lohia had attacked Congress.... it is for everyone to see where his Samajwadi Party today is while Congress is leading the government at the Centre," he said.
Congressmen would go among the people and apprise them of various Central government schemes and funds provided to Uttar Pradesh, which the state government has squandered, he said.
