Gopal Krishna Gandhi whose 5-year-term as the governor of West Bengal ended today met CPM's Jyoti Basu.
During his tenure, Gandhi was critical of the state government on law and order issues and particularly over the state govt's decision to set up a chemical hub in Nandigram that led to months of violence in Nandigram in 2007.
Gandhi said he was very fortunate for the presence and guidance of Basu on so many matters and Basu had given him a great sense of hope especially in last 5 years in West Bengal.
