New Delhi: India reported 2,828 new COVID-19 cases on Saturday that took its infection tally to 4,31,53,043, while the number of active cases increased to 17,087, showed Union health ministry data.
The death count climbed to 5,24,586 with 14 fatalities.
A day earlier, the country had reported 2,685 new cases and 33 deaths,
The active cases comprise 0.04 per cent of the total infections. The national COVID-19 recovery rate was recorded at 98.74 per cent, the ministry said.
An increase of 779 cases was recorded in the active COVID-19 caseload in a span of 24 hours.
