Arunachal Pradesh Reports More COVID-19 Recoveries Than New Cases

Arunachal Pradesh for the third consecutive day today reported more COVID-19 recoveries than fresh cases as 86 more people recuperated from the disease while 69 tested positive for the infection, a senior health official said.

The COVID-19 tally rose to 65,893, while a total of 65,164 people have recuperated from the disease thus far.

The northeastern state had recorded 47 recoveries and 17 fresh infections on Monday.

The COVID-19 death count remained at 296, with no new fatality recorded in the past 24 hours, State Surveillance Officer (SSO) Dr Lobsang Jampa said.

Dibany Valley reported 18 new cases followed by Upper Siang (12), Namsai (11) and five each from Changlang and Lower Subansiri districts respectively, the official said.

Arunachal Pradesh currently has 433 active COVID-19 cases, the SSO said.

The COVID-19 recovery rate now is 98.89 per cent, while the active ratio is 0.66 per cent, Dr Jampa said.

Namsai district has the highest number of active cases at 68, followed by Dibang Valley at 48, East Siang (37), the Capital Complex Region comprising, Itanagar, Naharlagun, Nirjuli and Banderdewa areas at 35 and Upper Siang with 28 active cases.

A total of 12,83,381 samples have been tested for Coronavirus in the state thus far, including 431 on Monday, Jampa added.

So far 18,07,991 people have been inoculated with Coronavirus vaccines in the state, State Immunisation Officer (SIO) Dr Dimong Padung informed.

Andaman and Nicobar Reports 11 New COVID-19 Cases In 24 hours

The union territory of Andaman and Nicobar Islands reported 11 fresh COVID-19 cases on Tuesday, pushing the tally to 10,455, a health official said.

The archipelago now has 45 active COVID-19 cases.

Nine more people recovered from COVID-19 in the last 24 hours, taking the total number of recoveries to 10,281, the official said.

The Coronavirus death count remained at 129 as no fresh fatality was reported, he said.

A total of 7,64,551 samples have been tested for COVID-19 so far and the cumulative test positivity rate is 1.37 per cent, the official added.

Assam Logs 508 New COVID-19 Cases In 24 Hours

Assam registered a sharp spike in COVID-19 cases as 508 people tested positive for the virus in the last 24 hours, 448 more than the previous day, taking the overall coronavirus tally in the state to 7,39,514, a National Health Mission (NHM), bulletin said.

The new cases were detected from 7,549 samples tested for the virus during the day with the positivity rate of 6.73 per cent, it said on Monday.

The state had logged 60 fresh infections with a positivity rate of 6.32 per cent the previous day.

No deaths were reported during the period and the death count remained unchanged at 6,670. Another 1,347 positive patients have died due to co-morbidities so far.

Among the new cases in the last 24 hours, Dibrugarh and Lakhimpur reported 46 each. Kamrup Metropolitan logged 38 fresh infections, Sonitpur 28 and Biswanath 26.

Altogether 618 patients recovered from COVID-19 during the day, pushing the total number of recovered patients to 7,26,201 with the recovery rate at 98.20 per cent.

The state currently has 5,296, active COVID-19 cases, a marginal decline from 5,406 the previous day.

The cumulative number of samples tested for the novel coronavirus in the state so far is 2,85,46,130.

The NHM bulletin also said 4,86,44,355 doses of COVID-19 vaccines have been administered in the state so far.

These comprise 2,46,30,931 first doses, 2,17,56,135 second doses and 22,57,289 precaution doses.

Maharashtra's Thane Logs 93 COVID-19 Cases In 24 Hours

Thane district in Maharashtra reported 93 fresh COVID-19 cases, taking the tally to 7,34,312, a health official said today.

The COVID-19 death count rose to 11,928 after one patient died on Monday, he said.
