New Delhi: The Delhi government has allowed opening of bars from Monday and extended the timing for restaurants by two hours as part of the lifting of anti-Covid restrictions. Public parks, gardens, golf clubs and outdoor yoga activities have also been allowed by the Arvind Kejriwal government.
Bars will be able to open from noon to 10 pm with 50 per cent seating capacity, the Delhi government said in a fresh order.
Restaurants can stay open from 8 am to 10 pm, instead of the current 10 am to 8 pm.
The fresh phase of relation comes amid warnings by doctors and public health experts about the risks of a rapid unlock. Despite the ravages of the second wave of the virus in which thousands died and the healthcare system practically collapsed, especially in Delhi, the public disregard for safety norms have not changed, they said.
Meanwhile, India recorded less than 60,000 new coronavirus infections after 81 days taking the total tally of COVID-19 cases to 2,98,81,965, while the active cases further reduced to 7,29,243, according to the Union Health Ministry data updated on Sunday.
A total of 58,419 fresh infections were reported in a day. The death count climbed to 3,86,713 with 1,576 fresh fatalities, the lowest in 63 days.
The active cases further declined to7,29,243 comprising 2.44 per cent of the total infections, while the national COVID-19 recovery rate improved to 96.27 per cent, the data updated at 8 am showed.
A net decline of 30,776 cases has been recorded in the COVID-19 caseload in a span of 24 hours.
As many as 18,11,446 tests were conducted on Saturday taking the total cumulative tests conducted so far for detection of COVID-19 in the country to 39,10,19,083.
The daily positivity rate was recorded at 3.22 per cent. It has been less than 5 per cent for 13 consecutive days, the ministry said, adding the weekly positivity rate has declined to 3.43 per cent.

Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Sunday launched "Ashirbad", a scheme for the education, health and maintenance of Covid orphans.
As per the official release by the Odisha CMO, children who have lost their parents or the main earning person of the family on April 1, 2020, or after that due to COVID-19 will be covered under the scheme.
The Chief Minister said that the state government is committed to providing a safe environment for the overall development of these children who need special care of society.

COVID-19: Telangana logs 1,006 new cases, 6,13,202 in total
Telangana reported 1,006 new COVID-19 cases on Sunday, pushing the cumulative count of people infected with the virus to 6,13,202.
With 1,798 recoveries over the last 24 hours, the overall recoveries in the state have reached 5,91,870, while the death count has climbed to 3,567 as 11 people succumbed to the virus in the said period.
The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) reported the highest number of positive cases in a single day with 141, followed by Khammam district with 88 new cases.

COVID-19 curfew in Goa extended till June 28
Goa government has extended the state-level COVID curfew by another seven days till next June 28, with additional relaxations.
"State Level Curfew will be extended till 7 am, 28 June 2021. Shops in Shoping malls, except cinema halls, theatres, multiplexes, entertainment zones allowed to be open between 7 am to 3 pm. Fish market may also open," tweeted Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant.
This is the fourth time the curfew has been extended since it was imposed on May 9 in view of rising COVID-19 cases.

COVID-19: BJP leaders distribute yellow rice to encourage people to take vaccine in Madhya Pradesh
In order to encourage people to take their COVID-19 vaccine doses and complete the target of inoculating three lakh people by Monday, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders went door-to-door giving yellow rice and urging them to get vaccinated.
BJP MP Shankar Lalwani said that the Aadhaar card is not necessary for taking the vaccine. "On showing voter ID, passport, or even bank passbook, the vaccine will be administered after registering on the spot at the vaccination centre tomorrow," he added.
BJP city president Gaurav Ranadive emphasised that the entire management for the large-scale vaccination will be done in a manner similar to voting in the elections.

Telangana Government Seeks Vaccine Testing Facility In Hyderabad
The Telangana government on Sunday urged the Centre to set up a vaccine testing facility in Hyderabad "on a war footing" basis.
In a letter to Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan, state IT and Industries Minister KT Rama Rao stated that Hyderabad has emerged as the vaccination capital of the world by producing one-third of the global vaccines.
He noted that COVID-19 vaccine Covaxin was developed and also is being manufactured in Hyderabad.

Mumbai sees 733 COVID-19 cases, 19 deaths, 650 recoveries
Mumbai on Sunday reported 733 fresh coronavirus positive cases and 19 fatalities, taking the tally to 7,21,370 and the death count to 15,298, the city civic body said.
A total of 650 patients were discharged during the day, taking the count of recoveries in Mumbai so far to 6,88,990, it said, adding the city is now left with 14,809 active cases.
With 28,226 new tests, the number of samples tested so far in Mumbai reached 68,15,028, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) said.

COVID-19: Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation starts operations from today
The Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation resumed its operations from Sunday keeping in view COVID-19 protocols, said the corporation.
As per an official release, "As per orders of the Government, BMTC will operate its services from 21-06-2021 for the convenience of the travelling public."
As far as the service availability is concerned, operation of 2000 services will take place on major traffic routes of Bangalore city. Vayuvajra services (17 Buses, 117 trips) will be operated from Kempegowda International. Airport to Kempegowda Bus Station and Electronic city will ply.

Coronavirus: Purusottampur block in Odisha's Ganjam district is now Covid free
Purusottampur is the first block in Ganjam district to become coronavirus-free as the migrant-prone block did not have any active case as of now, an official said.
During the second wave, 183 people in Purushottampur block have been infected with the virus since March 1, Block Development Officer (BDO) Bijay Behera said.
The block has 96 villages in 26 panchayats and a notified area council.
The highest active case in the block was recorded on May 11 with 21 cases. The numbers of infections have started to decline since then, Mr Behera said.
