India has recorded 41,831 lakh fresh cases - marginally higher than yesterday - and 541 deaths in the last 24 hours. So far, 4.24 lakh people have died of Covid in the country while the total caseload stands at 3.16 crore.
The cumulative number of COVID-19 vaccine doses administered in the country has crossed 47 crore, the Union health ministry said on Sunday.
Registering an increase for the fifth consecutive cases, the active cases have climbed to 4,10,952 and comprises 1.30 per cent of the total infections, while the national COVID-19 recovery rate was recorded at 97.36 per cent, the data updated at 8 am showed.
An increase of 2,032 Covid cases has been recorded in the total number COVID-19 caseload in a span of 24 hours.
Also, 17,89,472 tests were conducted on Saturday, taking the cumulative tests conducted so far for detection of COVID-19 in the country to 46,82,16,510, while the daily positivity rate was recorded at 2.34 per cent .
Weekly positivity rate was recorded at 2.42 per cent, according to the health ministry.

In a bid to curb the spread of COVID-19, the South Goa district administration has extended the curfew till August 9, reported news agency ANI. The district administration prohibited the functioning of several establishments/facilities, including cinema hall, casinos, cruises, spa, auditoriums and weekly markets. Schools, colleges, educational and coaching institutions for students will also remain closed; however, examinations will be permitted with government's approval.

Britain reported 24,470 new cases of COVID-19 on Sunday, a drop from 26,144 on Saturday, and 65 deaths within 28 days of a positive test, down from 71 on Saturday. The government also said 46,851,145 people had received the first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine and 38,345,841 had received two doses.
Telangana recorded 455 new COVID-19 cases, taking the total caseload to 6,45,406, while the death count rose to 3,805 with three more fatalities. Recoveries outnumbered fresh cases, with 648 people recuperating from the infectious disease, taking the total number to 6,32,728. The number of active cases stands at 8,873.
Negative RT-PCR report has been made mandatory for everyone coming from Kerala to Tamil Nadu from August 5, informed Tamil Nadu Health Minister Ma Subramaniyan on Sunday.
"RT-PCR report is mandatory for people coming from Kerala to Tamil Nadu from August 5," he said.
Earlier, On July 30, Subramaniyan has said that COVID-19 cases have been increasing in the state.
"No of Covid cases has been increasing in the last three days. RT-PCR tests have increased. Many people are not wearing face masks. Vigilance in Tamil Nadu and Kerala is increased," said the minister.
Kerala has been witnessing a rise in COVID-19 cases.
Arunachal Pradesh reported 266 fresh COVID-19 cases, which pushed the tally to 48,122, a senior health official said here on Sunday.

Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai said on Saturday that the Centre has assured to supply about 1 crore vaccines for the state in August.
The Chief Minister, who met Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya, said the Centre has agreed to increase the monthly supply of COVID-19 vaccines to the state, ANI reported.
