India recorded 43,509 new coronavirus infections taking the total tally of COVID-19 cases to 3,15,28,114, while the active cases registered an increase for the second consecutive day, according to the Union Health Ministry data updated on Thursday.
The central government is sending a six-member team from the National Centre for Disease Control to Kerala, which has been witnessing an alarming surge in daily COVID-19 cases. As a large number of Covid cases are still being reported in Kerala, the team will aid the state's ongoing efforts in Covid management," Mr Mandaviya said in a tweet.
Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia will impose a three-year travel ban on citizens travelling to countries on the kingdom's red list, including India, under efforts to curb the spread of coronavirus and its new variants. "Travelling to the banned countries is an obvious violation of COVID-19 related travel restrictions and the Kingdom's updated instructions," the Gulf News on Tuesday quoted a report by the state-run Saudi Press Agency (SPA) as saying.
The red-list countries include the UAE, Libya, Syria, Lebanon, Yemen, Iran, Turkey, Armenia, Ethiopia, Somalia, Congo, Afghanistan, Venezuela, Belarus, India and Vietnam, PTI reported.

Haryana on Thursday reported three COVID-19 related deaths taking the cumulative count to 9,630 and 30 fresh infections pushed the total case count to 7,69,858, a daily bulletin stated. The total active cases in the state were 712 while the total recoveries so far were 7,59,516, the bulletin stated. The recovery rate was 98.66 percent, the bulletin said.

The active coronavirus case count increased by 280 in Andhra Pradesh as 1,807 recoveries
were reported against 2,107 fresh infections in the 24 hours ending 9 am on Thursday.
The state also reported 20 more Covid-19 deaths in a day, according to the latest bulletin.
The state's Covid-19 chart now showed 19,62,049 total positives, 19,27,438 recoveries and 13,332 deaths. The active caseload increased to 21,279, the bulletin said.

Odisha's COVID-19 tally mounted to 9,74,132 on Thursday as 1,615 more people tested positive for the infection, while 65 fresh fatalities pushed the state's coronavirus death count to 5,768. The daily test positivity rate (TPR) dipped to 2.09 per cent from 2.16 per cent on Wednesday.
