New Delhi:
India today reported 2,288 new coronavirus infections, taking the total tally of COVID-19 cases to 4,31,07,689, while the active cases dipped to 19,637, according to the Union Health Ministry data updated.
The death count climbed to 5,24,103 with 10 fresh fatalities, the data stated.
The active cases comprise 0.05 per cent of the total infections, while the national COVID-19 recovery rate was 98.74 per cent, the ministry said.
A decrease of 766 cases has been recorded in the active COVID-19 caseload in a span of 24 hours. The daily positivity rate was recorded as 0.95 per cent and the weekly positivity rate as 0.82 per cent, according to the ministry.

Puducherry Records 2 New COVID-19 Cases In 24 Hours
Puducherry logged two new cases of coronavirus today, raising the overall tally to 1,65,799.
With no fresh fatality reported during last twenty -four hours the overall death count remained 1,962.
As many as 456 samples were tested during last twenty-four hours and two new infections were detected.
Director of Health G Sriramulu said in a release that four patients recovered today and the active cases were five. The overall recoveries were 1,63,832.
The Department of Health has examined so far 22,35,970 samples and it was found that 18,80,780 out of them were negative.
The test positivity rate was 0.44 percent and the fatality and recovery rates were 1.18 percent and 98.81 percent respectively.
The Health Department has administered so far 16,93,778 doses which comprised 9,65,197 first doses, 7,07,012 second doses and 21,569 booster doses.

One New COVID-19 Case In Andamans In 24 Hours
One new COVID-19 case was reported in Andaman and Nicobar Islands, taking the Union territory's caseload to 10,039, a health bulletin said today.
There are now three active cases in the archipelago, while 9,907 people have recovered from the disease thus far, including one in the last 24 hours.
A total of 129 people have succumbed to the infection to date. The administration has thus far tested over 7.27 lakh samples for COVID-19, and fully vaccinated 3.36 lakh people.

16 New COVID-19 Cases In Maharashtra's Thane In Last 24 Hours
With the addition of 16 new COVID-19 cases, the infection count in Maharashtra's Thane district has gone up to 7,09,224, an official said today.
These new cases were reported on Monday, he said.
The number of deaths remained unchanged at 11,894 as no fresh fatality was reported, he said, adding that the COVID-19 mortality rate in Thane is 1.67 per cent.
In neighbouring Palghar district, the COVID-19 case count has gone up to 1,63,612, while the death count stands at 3,407, another official said.
