New Delhi: India recorded 2,827 new coronavirus infections in the last 24 hours, taking the total tally of COVID-19 cases to 4,31,13,413, while the active cases dipped to 19,067, according to the Union Health Ministry data updated.
The death count climbed to 5,24,181 with 24 fresh fatalities, the data stated today.
The active cases comprise 0.05 per cent of the total infections, while the national COVID-19 recovery rate was 98.74 per cent, the ministry said.
A decrease of 427 cases has been recorded in the active COVID-19 caseload in a span of 24 hours. The daily positivity rate was recorded as 0.95 per cent and the weekly positivity rate as 0.82 per cent, according to the ministry.

Covid News: Maharashtra Logs 231 New COVID-19 Cases, 1 Death
Maharashtra on Thursday recorded 231 fresh coronavirus cases, more than half of them from Mumbai, and one more death linked to the infection, the state health department said. With this, the state's overall COVID-19 tally rose to 78,80,074, while the death count increased to 1,47,851, the department said in a bulletin.

Puducherry Logs 2 New COVID-19 Cases, Tally Rises To 1,65,801
The union territory of Puducherry added two fresh coronavirus cases during the last 24 hours pushing the overall caseload to 1,65,801, a senior official of Department of Health said on Thursday.
The two new infections emerged after the examination of 314 samples and the active cases rose to seven, Director of Health G Sriramulu said in a release here.
There were no fresh fatalities in any of the four regions-Puducherry, Karaikal, Mahe and Yanam- during the last 24 hours ending 10 am on Thursday and the death count remained at 1,962, he said.
The Director said the Health Department has so far examined so far 22,36,844 samples and it was found that 18,81,640 of them were negative.
The test positivity rate was 0.64 per cent while fatality and recovery rates were 1.18 per cent and 98.81 per cent respectively.
The Department of Health has so far administered 16,95,182 doses which comprised 9,65,338 first doses, 7,08,064 second and 21,780 booster doses.

55 New COVID-19 Cases In Mizoram In Last 24 Hours
Mizoram today recorded 55 new COVID-19 cases, 22 more than the previous day, with the tally rising to 2,27,849, a health department official said.
The number of deaths stood at 697 as no new fatality due to the infection was reported for the last 10 days, he said.
The daily positivity rate increased to 12 per cent from 7.73 per cent the previous day as the fresh cases were detected from 455 sample tests, the official said.
The northeastern state now has 209 active cases.
Forty-six people recuperated from the disease on Wednesday, taking the total number of recoveries to 2,26,943, the official said.
The recovery rate among COVID-19 patients stood at 99.60 per cent.
The state has so far tested more than 19.25 lakh samples for COVID-19.
According to state immunisation officer Lalmuanawma Jongte, over 8.52 lakh people have been inoculated till Wednesday with 6.92 lakh of them having received both doses of vaccines. At least 42,192 people got the precautionary dose.

3 Active COVID-19 Cases In Andamans
Three COVID-19 patients are currently undergoing treatment in Andaman and Nicobar Islands, a health bulletin said today.
The coronavirus tally of the Union Territory remained unchanged at 10,039 as no fresh infection was recorded in the last 24 hours, it said.
The three active patients are undergoing home quarantine, the bulletin said.
The number of deaths stood at 129, while 9,907 people have recovered from the disease in the archipelago so far.
The administration has thus far tested over 7.28 lakh samples for COVID-19 and inoculated 3.37 lakh people with both doses of vaccines.

Maharashtra's Thane District Reports 18 New COVID-19 Cases In 24 Hours
The tally of coronavirus cases in Thane district of Maharashtra rose by 18 to reach 7,09,268, an official said today.
These cases were reported on Wednesday.
As nobody succumbed to the infection during the day, the number of deaths in the district remained unchanged at 11,894, he said, adding that the mortality rate is 1.67 per cent.
In neighbouring Palghar district, the case count stood at 1,63,612 and the death count is 3,407, another official said.
