New Delhi: India on Saturday reported a total of 8,329 new coronavirus infections in the last 24 hours. The new additions have taken the total number of coronavirus cases in country to 4,32,13,435.
The daily positivity rate of 2.41 percent was observed on Friday, while the weekly positivity rate was recorded to be 1.75 percent, the Health Ministry said.
The active COVID-19 cases rose to 40,370 and the number of deaths due to Covid climbed to 5,24,757 with 10 deaths in the last 24 hours, according to the government data

COVID-19 India News: 30% Jump In New Covid Cases In West Bengal
West Bengal reported 139 COVID-19 cases on Saturday, a jump of 30% in new infections in the last 24 hours, as per Health Department data. The state had reported 107 cases on Friday. Around 75 per cent of the new cases were detected in Kolkata, officials said. Doctors blamed the lackadaisical attitude of the people about wearing masks as the reason behind the sudden spike. The death count remained at 21,205 with no new deaths reported. The positivity rate also rose to 1.82%. There are 662 active cases in the state at present. (PTI)

Covid News: 24 New Covid Cases Reported In Odisha
Odisha recorded 24 new coronavirus cases on Saturday, four more than the previous day. This takes the total number of cases to 12,88,620, the health department said. The death count remained at 9,126 as there was no more death due to the pathogen in the last 24 hours.

Covid News: Thane's Single-Day COVID-19 Count Remain Above 500
With the addition of 531 coronavirus positive cases, the infection count in Thane district of Maharashtra increased to 7,13,110, an official said on Saturday. As nobody died due to the infection on Friday, the death count in the district remained unchanged at 11,895, the official said, adding that the mortality rate is 1.67 percent. (PTI)
