Coronavirus Highlights: India Reports 12,213 New Covid Cases, 11 Deaths In 24 Hours

Covid-19 Cases in India: The recovery rate is 98.65 per cent.

India recorded 12,213 new coronavirus cases on Thursday, bringing the total number of COVID-19 cases to 4,32,57,730.

India's active COVID-19 caseload currently stands at 58,215, the Health Ministry said.

India also reported 11 Covid-related fatalities on Thursday, taking the total number of deaths to 5,24,803.

With 7,624 recoveries in the last 24 hours, the total recoveries have reached 4,26,74,712.

The daily positivity rate stands at 2.35 per cent while the weekly positivity rate at 2.38 per cent. The national recovery rate was 98.65 per cent. The cumulative Covid vaccine doses administered across India has exceeded 195.67 crore.

Odisha logs 41 new COVID-19 cases

Odisha recorded 41 new coronavirus cases on Tuesday, 19 more than the previous day, taking the tally to 12,88,737, the health department said.

The toll remained at 9,126 as there was no more death due to the pathogen in the last 24 hours. Fifty-three other coronavirus patients have died due to comorbidities so far, according to a bulletin.

There are 177 active COVID-19 cases and 30 more people recuperated from the disease, taking the total number of recoveries to 12,79,381, the department said.

More than 193.53 crore COVID-19 vaccine doses provided to States, Union Territories: Government

The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on Thursday informed that more than 193.53 crore vaccine doses have been provided to States and Union Territories so far under the nationwide COVID-19 vaccination drive.

The government data further said that more than 13.28 crore balance and unutilized vaccine doses are still available with States and Union Territories.

"More than 193.53 crores (1,93,53,58,865) vaccine doses have been provided to States, UTs so far through Government of India (free of cost channel) and through direct state procurement category. More than 13.28 crore (13,28,75,455) balance and unutilized COVID vaccine doses are still available with the States, UTs to be administered," the government data read.

Coronavirus LIVE Updates: India's cumulative COVID-19 vaccination coverage exceeds 195.67 crores

India's COVID-19 vaccination coverage has exceeded 195.67 crores, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare said on Thursday.

"India's COVID-19 vaccination coverage has exceeded 195.67 crores (1,95,67,37,014) as per provisional reports till 7 am today. This has been achieved through 2,51,69,966 sessions," the government data said.

COVID-19 vaccination for the age group 12-14 years was started on March 16, 2022. So far, more than 3.54 crore (3,54,38,168) adolescents have been administered with the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. Similarly, the COVID-19 precaution dose administration for the age group 18-59 years also started from April 10, 2022, onwards.

India's active caseload currently stands at 58,215. Active cases now constitute 0.13 per cent of the country's total positive cases.

The COVID-19 tally of Andaman and Nicobar Islands rose to 10,063 on Thursday as five more people tested positive for the infection, a health bulletin said.

Four new patients have travel history, while one fresh infection was detected during contact tracing, it said.

The Union territory now has 10 active cases, while 9,924 people have recovered from the disease and 129 patients have succumbed to the infection to date.

Over 10,000 COVID-19 Cases In India For 1st Time Since Late-Feb

India added 12,213 fresh Covid cases in the last 24 hours, witnessing a 38.4% jump from 8, 822 cases recorded yesterday. This is the first time since February that the viral infections have crossed the 10,000-mark in a day.

India's active COVID-19 caseload currently stands at 53,637, and account for 0.13 per cent of the total infections, the Health Ministry said.

With 7,624  recoveries in the last 24 hours, the total recoveries have reached 4,26,74,712.

5 Fresh COVID-19 Cases In Andamans

The COVID-19 tally of Andaman and Nicobar Islands rose to 10,063 on Thursday as five more people tested positive for the infection, a health bulletin said.

Four new patients have travel history, while one fresh infection was detected during contact tracing, it said.

The Union territory now has 10 active cases, while 9,924 people have recovered from the disease and 129 patients have succumbed to the infection to date.

The administration has thus far tested over 7.45 lakh samples for COVID-19 and fully vaccinated 3.40 lakh people.

Mumbai Covid Update: 2,293 New Covid Cases In Mumbai, Highest In Almost 5 Months
Mumbai on Wednesday reported 2,293 new COVID-19 cases, the highest daily count since January 23, and one fresh death linked to the infection, the city civic body said.
