New Delhi: India recorded 18,819 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours, taking the total number of COVID-19 cases to 4,34,52,164. According to the Union Health Ministry data updated today, the active cases rose to 104,555 today.
The death count climbed to 5,25,116 with 39 new Covid fatalities in India.
The active cases comprise 0.21 per cent of the total infections, while the national COVID-19 recovery rate was 98.58 per cent, the ministry said.

Maharashtra's Thane Sees 674 New COVID-19 Cases In 24 Hours
Maharashtra's Thane district has recorded 674 new cases of coronavirus that raised the tally of infections to 7,27,356, a health official said today.
With the addition of the latest infections detected on Wednesday, the district currently has 5,585 active cases, he said.
The count stood at 11,906, after one patient died of the infection, while the count of recoveries has reached 7,09,191, the official added.

Andaman and Nicobar Logs 8 New COVID-19 Cases In 24 Hours
The Union Territory of Andaman and Nicobar Islands reported eight new COVID-19 cases today, four less than the previous day, pushing the tally to 10,157, a health department official said.
Five patients have travel history while three infections were detected during contact tracing, the official said.
The archipelago now has 42 active COVID-19 cases, while 9,986 people have recovered from the disease, including four in the last 24 hours, he said.
A total of 129 patients have succumbed to COVID-19 till date.
The Union Territory administration has so far tested 7,53,930 samples for COVID-19 and the cumulative test positivity rate is 1.35 per cent.
A total of 3,41,144 people have been inoculated with both doses of the vaccine so far, the official added.

Mizoram Reports 39 New COVID-19 Cases Today, Daily Positivity Rate 10.1%
Mizoram's COVID-19 tally rose to 2,29,048 as 39 more people tested positive for the infection today, 25 less than the previous day, a health department official said.
The 39 fresh cases were detected from 386 samples tested and the single-day positivity rate is 10.1 per cent, he said.
The COVID-19 death count remained at 703 as no fresh fatality was reported, the official said.
Mizoram now has 261 active COVID-19 cases while 2,28,084 people have recovered from the disease, including nine people on Wednesday.
The COVID-19 recovery rate now is 99.57 per cent.
The northeastern state has tested more than 19.37 lakh samples for COVID-19.
According to state immunisation officer Lalmuanawma Jongte, over 8.66 lakh people have been inoculated with COVID-19 vaccine till Wednesday.
