Coronavirus Highlights: India Records Over 5,900 Fresh COVID-19 Cases

India COVID-19 cases: India has an active caseload of 69,897.

New Delhi:

India on Friday reported at least 5,921 new COVID-19 cases while active infections declined to 63,878.

According to Health Ministry, the total number of fatalities now stands at 5,14,878 with 289 more people succumbing to the disease.

As per government data, India has an active caseload of 69,897 which accounts for 0.17 per cent of the total cases.

Maharashtra records 535 coronavirus cases, ten deaths
Maharashtra on Saturday reported 535 new coronavirus infections, taking the caseload to 78,68,451.
With 10 persons succumbing to the viral infection, death toll reached 1,43,737, the state health department said.

As many as 963 patients were discharged from hospital or recovered at home, taking the recovery tally to 77,16,674.

123 new COVID-19 cases in Telangana
The COVID-19 recovery rate in Telangana rose further to 99.23 per cent with 123 new cases recorded in the state on Saturday.

A health department bulletin said 348 people recuperated from the infectious disease, taking the cumulative number of recoveries till date to 7,83,626.

The state reported 123 new COVID-19 cases, pushing the tally to 7,89,676, while the death toll remained at 4,111 with no fresh fatality.

Arunachal Pradesh reports three fresh COVID-19 cases, tally at 64,461
Arunachal Pradesh's COVID-19 tally rose to 64,461 on Saturday after three more persons tested positive for the infection, two less than the previous day, a senior health official said here.

The COVID-19 death toll in the northeastern state remained at 296, with no fresh fatality reported in the past 24 hours, State Surveillance Officer (SSO) Dr Lobsang Jampa said.
