India recorded a total of 12,751 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours, taking the total number of infections to 4,41,74,650, according to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
With 42 new fatalities due to Covid, the death count has climbed to 5,26,772.
India's active caseload currently stands at 1,31,807 and accounts for 0.31 per cent of the total cases.
The recovery rate is currently at 98.50 per cent. As many as 16,412 recoveries from the infection were logged in the last 24 hours thereby increasing the total recoveries to 4,35,16,071.

The recovery count stood at 11,52,778 after 609 people recovered during the day, leaving the state with 2,926 active cases, he said.
"Raipur led with 70 cases, followed by 50 in Durg, 16 in Raigarh, 15 in Bilaspur, 13 in Rajnandgaon and 11 in Dhamtari among other districts. No coronavirus cases were reported in two districts," the official added.
The COVID-19 toll remained unchanged at 10,762 as no fresh casualty due to the respiratory disease was reported in the last 24 hours, he added.
At least 164 patients recovered from the infection during the day, taking the count of recoveries to 10,39,500, the official said.
With this, the state is now left with 1,297 active cases, while the positivity rate, or cases detected per 100 tests, stood at 2.4 per cent, he said.
As per a government release, 12,64,52,877 COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered so far in the state, of which 991 jabs were given on Tuesday.
It was on February 13 that the city had reported 12 deaths due to the viral disease.
The new coronavirus cases were the highest in 180 days, while the positivity rate stood at 15.41 per cent. The city on February 3 had recorded 2,668 cases and 13 fatalities.
Amid a spike in cases over the last week, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday said Covid cases are on the rise in Delhi, but there is no need to panic as most of the new cases were mild in nature.
The national capital saw 1,372 infections and six deaths as the case positivity rate rose to 17.85 per cent, the highest since January 21, it said.
The fresh cases on Tuesday came out of 16,187 COVID-19 tests, the health department bulletin stated.
With the fresh infections and fatalities, Delhi's caseload increased to 19,73,394 and the death toll to 26,343, it said.
The number of active COVID-19 cases in Delhi stand at 8,506, up from 7,484 previous day. As many as 5,504 patients are in home isolation, the bulletin said.
Of the 9,409 beds reserved for COVID-19 patients in various Delhi hospitals, 534 were occupied. Beds at Covid care centres and Covid health centres were lying vacant, it said.
There are 2,841 active COVID-19 cases in Punjab.
With 454 more patients recuperating from the disease, the number of recoveries increased to 7,54,518, the bulletin said.
Chandigarh reported 97 fresh COVID-19 cases that pushed its tally to 97,539. The death toll was 1,171, it said.
The number of active cases in the union territory stands at 768, the bulletin said.The State continued to maintain the death toll at 38,033, as no fatalities were reported today too, according to a bulletin from the State health department.
5 passengers, including 4 from Malaysia and 1 from Rajasthan, who returned to the State were among the total 941 persons who tested positive for the contagion today.
The active cases declined to 8,911 from 9,408 a day ago.
As many as 1,438 COVID-19 patients were discharged following treatment today and the net recoveries increased to 35,07,667.
Among the districts, Chennai reported the maximum of 202 infections followed by Coimbatore - 107 and Chengalpattu - 83.The State on Monday registered 528 fresh infections.
Hyderabad district reported the highest number of cases with 223.
A health department bulletin said 1,054 people recuperated from the infection, raising the cumulative number of recoveries till date to 8,17,560.
The recovery rate rose to 98.89 per cent.
No fresh fatality occurred due to the infectious disease and the death toll continued to be 4,111.
With 163 people discharged after treatment, the count of recoveries in Goa went up to 2,48,424. The COVID-19 death toll remained unchanged at 3,955 with no new fatalities being reported, the bulletin said.
Goa is now left with 957 active cases, it said.
The toll rose to 9,151 with one death each in Bhubaneswar and Sundargarh, it said.
The state had logged 652 infections on Monday.
Sundargarh reported the highest number of new infections at 137, followed by 78 in the Khurda.
The state now has 5,549 active cases.
As many as 734 more people were cured of the disease since Monday, taking the total number of recoveries to 13,05,261. 53 other patients have died due to comorbidities thus far.
With 810 patients discharged, the number of recoveries in the state rose to 12,45,890.
The lone fatality was reported in Ahmedabad, a health department release said.
The number of active cases in Gujarat now stands at 5,729 while 15 patients are on ventilator support.
Ahmedabad district reported the highest number of 265 cases in Gujarat on Tuesday, Vadodara 99, Surat 66, Rajkot 41, Mehsana 22 and Banaskantha 19 cases, among other districts. A total of 1.53 lakh people were vaccinated against COVID-19, raising the total number of doses administered so far in Gujarat to 11.91 crore.
This is the seventh day in a row when the city added more than 400 cases. A day before, the metropolis logged 407 infections and a single COVID-19 fatality.
The overall tally of cases stands at 11,28,433 as of Tuesday and the death toll at 19,660, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) bulletin said.
Of the 479 new cases, only 30 patients were symptomatic while the rest 449 were asymptomatic, it said.

The Himalayan state now has 417 active COVID-19 cases.

In a letter to Mr Mandaviya, state Health Minister T Harish Rao said the Telangana government has decided to take up a massive drive for administration of precautionary dose to the eligible population.
At present, the state is administering about 1.5 lakh doses per day.
However, based on the demand, there is potential to administer over three lakh precautionary doses per day which the state is not able to meet as "there is shortage of vaccine supplies, particularly for Covishield", Harish Rao said.
As of now, the state has only 2.7 lakh doses of Covishield which was not sufficient even for two days, he said.
Telangana has achieved 106 per cent coverage of first dose of COVID vaccination and 104 per cent for the second dose, for 18 years-plus population which is one of the highest in the country, he said.
All the new cases were reported from Leh.
So far, 228 people have succumbed to COVID-19 in Ladakh. Of these, 168 deaths were reported from Leh and 60 from Kargil, according to the officials.
The officials said there are 118 active cases in Ladakh- 110 in Leh and eight in Kargil.
A total of 330 samples were tested for COVID-19 in Ladakh. Of these, 260 samples from Leh and 52 from Kargil were found to be negative, they said.
Twelve more people- nine in Leh and three in Kargil- were discharged from hospitals after they recovered from the viral disease. Arunachal Pradesh reported 41 new COVID-19 cases today, taking the tally to 66,246, a senior health official said.
The death count remained at 296, with no coronavirus fatalities recorded in the last 24 hours, State Surveillance Officer (SSO) Dr. Lobsang Jampa said.
Of the new cases, Namsai reported nine, followed by six in Leparada, five in Capital Complex Region, four in Upper Siang, and three in West Kameng district, the official said.
Arunachal Pradesh currently has 295 active cases, while 65,655 people have recuperated from the disease thus far, including 68 today.
The northeastern state Monday had recorded 35 recoveries and nine new cases.

Mizoram's COVID-19 count mounted to 2,34,387 today as 243 more people tested positive for the infection, 179 more than the previous day, a health official said.
The state's coronavirus death count rose to 712 after a 79-year-old man from the Saitual district succumbed to the infection on Monday night, he said.

Mizoram has conducted more than 19.59 lakh sample tests for COVID-19, including 963 on Monday.

As many as 123 new cases of coronavirus have been detected in Maharashtra's Thane district, taking its infection count to 7,35,416, a health official said today.
With the addition of the latest cases on Monday, the district currently has 1,099 active COVID-19 cases, he said.
One death was also reported on Monday, raising the fatality count in the district to 11,932, he said.
