India today reported 1,247 new Covid cases - a 43 per cent decline from yesterday. According to the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the country also reported 1 Covid-related death, bringing the total number of fatalities to 5,21,966.
Active cases in the country stands at 11,860 which accounts for 0.03 per cent of the total cases.
During this period, the daily positivity rate increased to 0.83 from 0.31 per cent yesterday. The weekly positivity rate saw a minor uptick as it currently stands at 0.32 per cent.
928 Covid patients recovered from the disease in the last 24 hours. The total number of recoveries jumped to 4,25,11,701 since the beginning of the pandemic in the country. The recovery rate currently is at 98.76 per cent.

Karnataka reports 62 new cases, zero fatality
Karnataka on Tuesday reported 62 fresh COVID-19 cases and zero fatalities, taking the total infection to 39,46,484 till date, the State Health Department said The death toll stood at 40,057.
Of the total infections, Bengaluru urban district saw 57 while two each in Shivamogga and Dakshina Kannada and one in Mysuru.
There were zero infections and fatalities in 27 districts of the State.
A bulletin said 48 people were discharged, taking the total number of recoveries to 39,04,898 till date. Active cases stood at 1,487.
The positivity rate for the day was 0.78 per cent.

Gujarat sees 12 COVID-19 cases, no death; active tally now 91
Gujarat on Tuesday reported 12 COVID-19 cases, taking its tally to 12,24,182, while the death toll stood unchanged at 10,942, an official said.
So far, 12,13,149 people have been discharged post recovery, including 22 during the day, leaving the state with 91 active cases, he added.
Ahmedabad led with 10 cases while Rajkot and Vadodara reported one each, he said.
A government release said 10.68 core vaccine doses have been administered in the state so far, including 88,932 on Tuesday.
The neighbouring Union Territory of Dadra and Nagar Haveli, Daman and Diu continued to coronavirus-free, a local official said.

Madhya Pradesh sees 10 COVID-19 cases, no death; 5 recoveries take active tally to 49
The COVID-19 tally in Madhya Pradesh reached 10,41,260 on Tuesday with the detection of 10 cases at a positivity rate of 0.2 per cent, while the death toll stood unchanged at 10,734, an official said.
The recovery count increased by five to touch 10,30,477, leaving the state with 49 active cases, the official informed.
With 4,669 samples examined during the day, the number of tests in MP went up to 2,90,01,756, he added.
A government release said 11,70,04,054 COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered so far in the state, including 20,671 on Tuesday.

Tamil Nadu logs 30 fresh COVID-19 cases, zero deaths
Tamil Nadu on Tuesday added 30 new COVID-19 infections to its COVID-19 tally, which touched 34,53,320.
However, the toll remained unchanged at 38,025 with zero fatalities getting reported in the last 24 hours, a medical bulletin said.
Recoveries grew to 34,15,060 with 27 people getting discharged in the last 24 hours, leaving 235 active infections.
Chennai among districts added 17 new cases, Chengalpet five, Thiruvallur, Vellore recorded two each while one new case were reported in Coimbatore, Kancheepuram, Thanjavur, Tiruppur, respectively.
The state capital leads with 7,51,318 cases overall.

Delhi records 632 fresh Covid cases, no death; positivity rate at 4.42 per cent
Delhi has recorded a nearly 26 per cent jump in fresh Covid cases in the last 24 hours, while the positivity rate has been reported at 4.42 per cent, according to data shared by the city health department on Tuesday.
No new death has been reported in the city due to the coronavirus, it said.
The department said that 632 fresh Covid cases have been reported and the positivity rate is 4.42 per cent. The city had on Monday recorded 501 cases and zero death while the positivity rate stood at 7.72 per cent.
The national capital on Sunday recorded a 4.21 per cent positivity rate with 517 cases.
With the new cases, the city's infection tally has increased to 18,69,683 while the death toll stood at 26,160 as no new fatality was reported.

Maharashtra sees 137 COVID-19 cases, more than double of Monday's addition; 3 deaths
Maharashtra on Tuesday reported 137 COVID-19 cases and three deaths, taking the state's tally to 78,76,041 and the toll to 1,47,830, an official said.
The addition to the tally was more than double of the 59 cases detected on Monday, when the fatality count was zero.
While Mumbai accounted for 85 of the 137 cases, the three deaths comprised two in Pune city and one in Parbhani, he said.
So far, 77,27,551 people have been discharged post recovery so far, including 108 in the last 24 hours, leaving the state with an active caseload of 660.

Covid Positivity Rate In Delhi Saw Nearly Three-Fold Surge Between April 11-18
After a steady decline in Covid cases, Delhi has been witnessing a spurt in new infections with the positivity rate registering a nearly three-fold rise between April 11-18, according to city health department data.
On April 11, the positivity rate stood at 2.70 percent which jumped to 3.95 percent on April 15 followed by 5.33 percent on April 16 and 7.72 percent on April 18, according to the data.
Last week, Delhi recorded a total of 2,606 positive Covid cases against 67,360 tests conducted during the period while the average positive rate was 4.79 percent, it showed.
On April 11, 5,079 Covid tests were conducted of which 137 came out positive while on April 18, 6,492 tests were conducted and over 501 people tested positive, according to the data provided by the Delhi government.
The national capital registered two deaths due to Covid during this period.

Covid situation stable in Odisha, mask mandate yet to be lifted
The mandatory wearing of masks as a precautionary measure against COVID-19 has not yet been lifted from Odisha and people should use them in crowded places, a senior health official said on Tuesday.
Though the coronavirus situation in the state is stable with the daily infections hovering between 10 and 20, it is important to follow COVID appropriate behaviour, Health Services Director Bijay Mohapatra told reporters here.
"The condition will be under control if everyone continues following COVID-19 guidelines," Mr Mohapatra said.
Odisha recorded 16 coronavirus cases on Tuesday, while there was no fatality for the fourth consecutive day, the health department said.

33 Children Among 107 New Covid Cases In UP's Gautam Buddh Nagar: Report
Thirty-three children were among 107 people who tested positive for COVID-19 in Uttar Pradesh's Gautam Buddh Nagar district on Tuesday, officials told news agency Press Trust of India.
The number of active cases in Gautam Buddh Nagar, adjoining Delhi, has reached 411, they said.
According to the official figures, 107 more people have tested positive since Monday 6 AM while 32 patients got cured during this period.
"Of the 107 new cases, 33 are children who have tested positive for COVID-19," Chief Medical Officer Dr Sunil Kumar Sharma said.
Amid a rise in COVID-19 cases, District Magistrate Suhas L Yathiraj had on Sunday urged public to not panic but take precaution against the virus.
He had also appealed to the people to contact helpline number 1800492211 for any COVID-19-related assistance.

Mizoram Logs 99 New COVID-19 Cases In 24 Hours
Mizoram's COVID-19 tally rose to 2,26,271 today as 99 more people, including 28 children, tested positive for the infection, a health official said.
The northeastern state had reported 61 cases on Monday. The number of deaths stood at 692 as no fresh fatality was recorded since Sunday.
The single-day positivity rate dipped to 8.40 per cent as 1,178 samples were tested for COVID-19.
The state now has 559 active cases, while 2,25,020 people have recovered from the infection so far, including 129 on Monday, he said.
The recovery rate among COVID-19 patients in the state stood at 99.44 per cent.
The northeastern state has so far tested more than 19.10 lakh samples for COVID-19. Over 8.42 lakh people have been inoculated so far, of whom 6.75 lakh have been fully vaccinated.

No New COVID-19 Cases In Puducherry, Active Cases Remain Unchanged
No new case of coronavirus was reported in Puducherry again on Tuesday, a senior health official said.
None of the four regions of the Union Territory - Puducherry, Karaikal, Mahe and Yanam -- registered any new case of the viral infection, Director of the Department of Health G Sriramulu said in a press release.
He said 207 samples were examined in the last 24 hours and no fresh case surfaced. The active cases count remained unchanged at three with all from Karaikal region.
The health department has tested 22,31,980 samples so far across the UT and has found 18,76,877 samples out of them to be negative.
Mr Sriramulu said the overall caseload remained 1,65,777 and total recoveries also stood the same at 1,63,812. As there was no fresh fatality, the number of deaths was the same as well at 1,962.
The Director said the test positivity rate remained zero and the fatality and recovery rates were also 1.81 per cent and 98.81 per cent, respectively.
The health department has administered 16,64,293 doses which comprised 9,61,117 first doses, 6,85,312 second doses and 17,864 booster doses, the Director further said.

India today recorded a massive jump in its daily Covid counts, raising fears of another spike in infections. As many as 2,183 new Covid cases have been recorded over the past 24 hours, an 89.8 per cent jump from yesterday's case count of 1,150 cases.
