New Delhi: India has reported 3,688 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours, taking the total tally of infections in the country since the pandemic started to 4,30,75,864.
According to the Union Health Ministry, the active cases increased to 18,684, with 883 new active cases in a 24-hour time span.
The country also reported 50 covid-related deaths today, bringing the total number of Covid fatalities to 5,23,803.
The active cases comprise 0.04 per cent of the total infections, while the national COVID-19 recovery rate was recorded as 98.74 per cent, the ministry said.

Telangana reports 34 new COVID-19 cases
Telangana on Saturday recorded 34 new COVID-19 cases taking the total caseload to 7,92,012.
Hyderabad reported the highest number of cases with 26.
No fresh fatalities occurred due to the infectious disease and the death toll continued to be 4,111, a health department bulletin said.

Maharashtra's Thane District Reports 12 New COVID-19 Cases, 1 Death In 24 Hours
With the addition of 12 coronavirus positive cases, the infection count in Thane district of Maharashtra rose to 7,09,035, an official said today.
These cases were reported on Friday.
As the virus claimed the life of one person during the day, the number of deaths in the district stood at 11,893, he said, adding that Thane's mortality rate is 1.67 per cent.
In neighboring Palghar district, the caseload stood at 1,63,612, while the death count is 3,407, another official said.

Delhi Logs 1,607 New COVID-19 Infections In 24 Hours As Cases Surge
Delhi has recorded 1,607 fresh COVID-19 cases with two people succumbing to the virus in the last 24 hours, while the positivity rate stood at 5.28 per cent, the city health department said today.
With these new cases, the national capital's overall Covid tally has increased to 18,81,555 while the number of deaths has risen to 26,174.
Delhi on Thursday had recorded 1,490 COVID-19 cases with a positivity rate of 4.62 per cent, and two deaths.
A total of 30,459 tests were conducted on Thursday, according to the Friday's health bulletin.
The number of patients under home isolation was 3,863 on Friday, the bulletin said, adding that there are 9,581 beds for COVID-19 patients in Delhi hospitals and 148 (1.54 per cent) of them are occupied.
