India on Friday reported 243 new Covid cases, taking the total number of cases to 4,46,78, 158. According to the Union Health Ministry, the death count stands at 5,30,699 with one death reported from Maharashtra in the last 24 hours. The active cases have increased to 3,609. The daily positivity rate was recorded at 0.11 per cent while the weekly positivity was pegged at 0.16 per cent, the ministry said.

Covid Live: WHO Says It Needs More Info On China Covid Situation
The World Health Organization (WHO) needs more information to assess the latest surge in infections in China, Director General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said. Covid infections have risen across China this month after Beijing dismantled its zero-COVID policies including regular PCR testing on its population. "In order to make a comprehensive risk assessment of the COVID19 situation on the ground in #China, WHO needs more detailed information," Tedros said in a tweet.
