Coronavirus Highlights: India Sees 121 New Covid Cases In 24 Hours

COVID-19 Highlights: The country reported 1 Covid-related death in the last 24 hours.

New Delhi:

India logged 121 fresh coronavirus infections on Tuesday and the number of active cases came down to 2,319, according to Union health ministry data.

The total number of COVID-19 cases now stands at 4.46 crore (4,46,80,215).

The death count increased to 5,30,722 with one death reported from Delhi in the last 24 hours, the data updated at 8 am stated.

The daily positivity rate was recorded at 0.07 per cent, while the weekly positivity rate stood at 0.11 per cent.

Mumbai Reports 9 Covid Cases, 0 Fatalities
Mumbai on Tuesday reported nine new coronavirus infections and zero pandemic-related deaths, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation said.

The tally of COVID-19 cases reported in India's financial capital thus far rose to 11,55,170, while the death toll remained unchanged at 19,746.

No Fresh Case, Death In Chhattisgarh

No COVID-19 case or fatality was reported in Chhattisgarh on Tuesday, which kept the tally and toll unchanged at 11,77,760 and 14,146, respectively, a health official said.

The recovery count rose to 11,63,613 after one person recovered from the infection during the day, leaving the state with one active case, he added.

No new COVID-19 case in Thane; active tally at 10


No new COVID-19 case or death has been reported in Maharashtra's Thane district, a health official said on Tuesday.

There are currently 10 active COVID-19 cases in Thane, which comes under the Mumbai Metropolitan Region, he said.

The district has so far recorded 7,47,410 cases of coronavirus, the official said.
