10 New Cases Today Takes Andamans' COVID-19 Tally To 10,330

Andaman and Nicobar Islands reported 10 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours, which took the tally to 10,330, a health department official said today.

Nine fresh patients have travel history, while one new infection was detected during contact tracing, he said.

The Union Territory now has 59 active patients, and 58 of them are undergoing home quarantine and one has been admitted to a hospital.

Eight people recuperated from the disease on Monday, taking the total number of recoveries in the archipelago to 10,142.

The death count remained at 129 as no new fatality due to the infection was reported in the last 24 hours, the official said.

The administration has conducted over 7.61 lakh sample tests for COVID-19 so far, and the positivity rate stood at 1.36 per cent, he said.

Altogether 3,41,856 people above 18 years of age have been inoculated with both doses of vaccines so far.

At least 23,623 beneficiaries in the age group of 15 to 18 years have been immunised, while 34,517 people got the precautionary jab.

As many as 13,492 children in the age group of 12-14 years have received at least one vaccine dose, the official added.

Assam Logs 764 New COVID-19 Cases, 3 Covid Deaths In 24 Hours

Assam reported 764 new COVID-19 cases, 615 more than the previous day, with the tally rising to 7,30,907, a National Health Mission bulletin said today.

Three more persons succumbed to the disease in the last 24 hours, raising the toll to 6,651, it said.

Altogether 1,347 Covid patients have died due to other reasons since April 2020, according to the bulletin.

At least 351 people recuperated from the disease on Monday, taking the total number of recoveries to 7,18,495.

The recovery rate among coronavirus patients stood at 98.30 per cent.

Assam now has 4,409 active cases, up from 3,691 the previous day.

The three fresh fatalities due to the coronavirus infection were reported from Darrang, Golaghat and Jorhat.

The new cases were detected from 7,301 sample tests, the bulletin said, adding that the positivity rate marginally declined to 10.46 per cent as against the previous day's 10.47 per cent.

Sixty-five infections were found in Goalpara, followed by 61 in Baksa, 59 each in Dibrugarh and Kamrup (Metro), it said.

Altogether 28,448,489 samples have so far been tested for COVID-19 in the state, according to the bulletin.

Over 4.72 crore doses of vaccines have been administered to eligible beneficiaries, it added.

Maharashtra's Thane Records 88 New COVID-19 Cases In 24 Hours

As many as 88 new cases of coronavirus have been detected in Maharashtra's Thane district, taking its tally of infections to 7,32,648, a health official said today.

With the addition of the latest cases on Monday, the district currently has 1,185 active COVID-19 cases, he said.

The COVID-19 death count in the district stood at 11,921 as there was no report of any fresh fatality, he said.

The recovery count in Thane has reached 7,19,439, the official added.
