New Delhi: India has recorded 21,880 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours, bringing the country's overall Covid tally to 4,38,47,065. The active cases increased to 1,49,482, according to the Union Health Ministry data.
The death count climbed to 5,25,930 with 60 new fatalities due to Covid in the last 24 hours.
The active cases comprise 0.33 per cent of the total infections, while the national COVID-19 recovery rate was recorded at 98.47 per cent, the ministry said.

Chhattisgarh Reports 627 Covid Cases, 1 Death
Chhattisgarh on Friday reported 627 COVID-19 cases at a positivity rate of 4.41 per cent, taking the tally to 11,61,881, while the death toll increased by one to reach 14,055, an official said. So far, 11,44,048 persons have recovered, including 444 people during the day, leaving the state with 3,778 active cases, he said.

Arunachal Pradesh Reports 63 New Covid Cases In 24 Hours
Arunachal Pradesh today reported 63 fresh COVID-19 cases, the highest single-day spike so far this month, pushing the tally to 65,151, a senior health department official said.
The northeastern state had recorded 56 cases on July 19.
The death count remained unchanged at 296, State Surveillance Officer (SSO) Lobsang Jampa said.
Arunachal Pradesh, which remained Covid-free for the last couple of months, has witnessed a surge in cases since July 1, the SSO said.
The state now has 286 active cases, while 64,569 people have recovered from the disease thus far.
A total of 12,79,738 samples have been tested for COVID-19, Lobsang Jampa added.
Over 17.76 lakh people have been inoculated till date, State Immunisation Officer (SIO) Dimong Padung said.

Centre Asks All Departments To Organise Free Covid Vaccine Camps At Workplaces
The Centre has asked all its departments to organise Covid vaccination camps at the workplaces for providing free precaution doses of the vaccine to the eligible employees and their family members.
In an order, the Personnel Ministry asked all the departments to enumerate the number of eligible employees and their family members to be vaccinated by precaution dose, separately for both types of vaccines - Covishield and Covaxin - so as to ensure optimum utilisation of resources.
As part of celebration of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, government of India has recently launched a new initiative 'COVID Vaccination Amrit Mahotsav' to provide free precaution dose to all adult eligible population who have completed six months (or 26 weeks) from the date of administration of the second dose, it said.
The initiative would be implemented at government COVID-19 vaccination centres for 75 days from July 15 to September 30, 2022, said the order issued to all central government ministries/departments.
As advised by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, it has been decided that Covid Vaccination Amrit Mahotsav Camps at the workplaces are to be organised immediately, it said.
"All the ministries/departments are advised to organise 'Covid Vaccination Amrit Mahotsav Camps' at the workplaces for providing free Covid precaution doses to the eligible employees and their family members," said the order dated July 20.
They are further advised to direct attached, subordinate offices and organisations under their control, including public sector undertakings to organise vaccination camps as well, it added.

Assam Logs 720 New COVID-19 Cases In 24 Hours
Assam registered 720 fresh COVID-19 cases, pushing the tally to 7,33,212, while the death count went up to 8,010 with two more fatalities, the National Health Mission (NHM) said in a bulletin.
The positivity rate marginally declined to 10.83 per cent, with 6,651 samples being tested since Thursday.
Assam had logged 830 fresh cases and two deaths the previous day.
Kamrup Metropolitan district, which primarily comprises Guwahati city, reported 46 new infections, followed by Goalpara (63), Dibrugarh (54) and Baksa (51), the bulletin said.
A total of 4,76,29,657 COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered in the state thus far, the bulletin added.

Maharashtra's Thane Records 165 New COVID-19 Cases In 24 Hours
With the addition of 165 coronavirus positive cases, the infection tally in Maharashtra's Thane district has increased to 7,33,112, a health official said today.
There are now 1,018 active cases in the district, he said.
With the death of one patient during the day, the toll rose to 11,924, while the count of recoveries reached 7,21,106, the official added.
