India Coronavirus Highlights: India's daily positivity rate stands at 4.39 per cent.
New Delhi: India reported 15,940 new cases of Covid-19 cases on Friday, the Union Health Ministry said. With this, India's active caseload stood at 91,779 at the rate of 0.21 per cent, which was 88,284 at the rate of 0.20 per cent a day before.
Apart from this, the Ministry also informed that the country has witnessed as many as 12,425 recoveries from the disease in the last 24 hours, thus taking the total recoveries to 4,27,61,481 at the rate of 98.58 per cent.
The country's daily positivity rate stands at 4.39 per cent, whereas its weekly positivity rate is reported as 3.30 per cent.
As per the Health Ministry, a total of 86.02 crore tests have been conducted in the country so far, of which 3,63,103 were conducted in the last 24 hours alone.

Telangana Adds 434 New COVID-19 Cases
Telangana on Sunday recorded 434 new COVID-19 cases, taking the total number of cases in the State to 7,99,055 so far, a Health Department bulletin said.
No fresh fatality occurred due to the infection and the death toll continued to be 4,111, it said.
Hyderabad accounted for the highest number of 343 cases followed by 34 in Ranga Reddy and 25 in Medchal Malkajgiri district.
A total of 285 people recuperated from the infectious disease today, taking the total tally of recoveries to 7,91,182.
The number of active cases was 3,762, the bulletin said.
Nagaland Reports 1 New COVID-19 Case
Nagaland on Sunday reported one fresh COVID-19 case, taking the tally to 35,506, a health department official said.
The new case was detected in Mokokchung district, he said.
Nagaland now has three active COVID-19 cases while 33,250 people have so far recovered from the disease, and 1,492 patients have migrated to other states, he said.
The COVID-19 recovery rate now is 93.65 per cent.
The coronavirus toll remained at 761 as no fresh deaths were reported.
Himachal Pradesh Reports 37 Fresh COVID-19 Cases
Himachal Pradesh on Sunday reported 37 fresh cases of COVID-19, pushing the state's infection tally to 2,85,742, an official said.
The total number of active cases in the hilly state stands at 319.
With the recovery of 10 more patients from the disease, the official said, the number of recoveries has reached 2,81,282.
Meanwhile, the toll in the state stood at 4,122 as no death due to COVID-19 was reported in the last 24 hrs, the official added.
Puducherry Logs 42 Fresh COVID-19 Cases
The union territory of Puducherry added 42 fresh COVID-19 cases during the last 24 hours pushing the overall tally to 1,66,305, a top Health department official said on Sunday.
The number of active cases shot up to 238 as against the 216 on Saturday, Director of Health G Sriramulu said in a release here.
Of the 238 active cases, four patients were in hospitals and the remaining 234 in home quarantine.
The overall caseload was 1,66,305, he added.
7 Fresh COVID-19 Cases In Andamans
The COVID-19 tally of Andaman and Nicobar Islands rose to 10,126 on Sunday as seven more people tested positive for the infection, a health bulletin said.
Five new patients have travel history, while two infections were detected during contact tracing, it said.
The Union territory now has 37 active cases, while 9,960 people have recovered from the disease so far, including three in the last 24 hours.
A total of 129 patients have succumbed to the infection to date.
5 Fresh COVID-19 Cases In Ladakh
Ladakh's COVID-19 tally increased to 28,353 on Sunday as five more people tested positive for the viral disease in the union territory, officials said.
All the fresh cases were detected in Leh district, they said.
So far, 228 people have succumbed to COVID-19 in Ladakh. Of these, 168 deaths were reported from Leh and 60 from Kargil, according to the officials.
Odisha Logs 68 New COVID-19 Cases
Odisha recorded 68 new COVID-19 cases on Sunday, six more than the previous day, taking the tally to 12,89,259, the health department said.
The toll remained at 9,126 as there were no fresh deaths. There are 431 active COVID-19 cases in the state at present.
In the last 24 hours, 47 more people recovered from the disease, taking the total number of recoveries to 12,79,649.
India Covid cases timeline
India's COVID-19 tally had crossed the 20-lakh mark on August 7, 2020, 30 lakh on August 23, 40 lakh on September 5 and 50 lakh on September 16. It went past 60 lakh on September 28, 70 lakh on October 11, crossed 80 lakh on October 29, 90 lakh on November 20 and surpassed the one-crore mark on December 19. The country crossed the grim milestone of two crore on May 4, three crore on June 23 last year and four crore on January 25 this year.

Mizoram logs 55 new COVID-19 cases, positivity rate at 23.61%
Mizoram reported 55 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours, taking the positivity rate to 23.61 per cent, informed the state Department of Information and Public Relations (DIPR) on Sunday.
As per the data shared by the state government, with the addition of new cases, the active caseload in the state stands at 173.
A total of 2,28,895 COVID-19 cases have been reported in the state so far and as many as 702 people have succumbed to the virus.
A total of 2,28,020 people have been recovered so far in the state.
