New Delhi:
India logged 17,073 new coronavirus infections taking the total tally of COVID-19 cases to 4,34,07,046, while the active cases rose to 94,420, according to the Union Health Ministry data updated on Monday.
The death count climbed to 5,25,020 with 21 new fatalities, the data updated at 8 am stated.
The active cases comprise 0.21 per cent of the total infections, while the national COVID-19 recovery rate was 98.58 per cent, the ministry said.

Gujarat Reports 351 Covid Cases, No Death
Gujarat today reported 351 Covid cases, which took its tally to 12,30,479, while the death count remained unchanged at 10,946, a state health department official said.
So far, 12,16,967 persons have been discharged post recovery, including 248 during the day, leaving the state with an active caseload of 2,566, he said.
Ahmedabad reported 158 new cases, followed by 79 in Surat, 31 in Vadodara, among other districts.
The total number of Covid vaccine doses administered in the state stands at 11.12 crore, including 34,231 today, a government release said.

Telangana Reports 477 New Covid Cases
Telangana today recorded 477 fresh Covid cases, pushing the total number of those infected by the virus to 7,99,532.
Hyderabad district registered the highest number of infections at 258, while its neighbouring Ranga Reddy and Medchal Malkajgiri reported 107 and 56 respectively.
No fresh fatality occurred due to the infectious disease and the death count continued to be 4,111.
A health department bulletin said 279 people recuperated from the disease and the cumulative number of recoveries till date was 7,91,461. The number of active cases was 3,960.

Delhi Reports 628 New Covid Cases, 3 Deaths
Delhi reported 628 new Covid cases and 3 more deaths today, while the positivity rate stood at 8.06 per cent, according to a health bulletin.
Delhi's Covid case tally reached 19,32,026 while the death count rose to 26,256.
The department had not issued a health bulletin yesterday.

Tamil Nadu Reports 1,461 New Covid Cases
Tamil Nadu registered 1,461 fresh Coronavirus cases on Monday, taking the overall count to 34,69,805, a medical bulletin said.
The total death continued to remain at 38,026, as no fatalities were reported today too.
Including 697 people who were discharged after treatment in the last 24 hours, the total recoveries rose to 34,23,557 till date.
The active cases in Tamil Nadu increased to 8,222 from 7,458 a day ago. Among those who tested positive today were 746 men and 715 women, it said.

Maharashtra Reports 2,369 New Covid Cases, 1,062 Cases From Mumbai
Maharashtra reported 2,369 new Covid cases today taking the overall case count to 79,65,035, state health bulletin said.
The state also reported 5 Covid-related deaths, taking the total death count to 1,47,910. The deaths were reported from Mumbai.
Today, 1,402 patients recovered from the disease, taking the overall recoveries to 77,91,555. The active cases currently stand at 25,570.
Meanwhile, Mumbai reported 1,062 new Covid cases and 5 deaths due to the disease.
Mumbai currently has 12,479 active cases.

Malaysia reports 2,003 new COVID-19 infections, 1 more death
Malaysia reported 2,003 new COVID-19 infections as of midnight Sunday, bringing the national total to 4,556,664, according to the health ministry.
There are three new imported cases, with 2,000 cases being local transmissions, data released by the ministry showed.
One more death has been reported, taking the death count to 35,746.
The ministry reported 1,861 new recoveries, lifting the total number of cured and discharged to 4,492,767.

5 fresh COVID-19 cases in Andamans
Andaman and Nicobar Islands on Monday reported five new COVID-19 cases, two less than the previous day, pushing the tally to 10,131, PTI reported.
Of the five new cases, three patients have travel history, while two infections were detected during contact tracing, he said.
The Union territory now has 37 active cases, while 9,965 people have recovered from the disease so far, including five in the last 24 hours.
A total of 129 patients have succumbed to the infection to date.

Thane reports 1,306 new COVID-19 cases; tally jumps by over 900 in one day
Maharashtra's Thane district has reported 1,306 new COVID-19 cases, taking its infection tally to 7,25,471, news agency PTI reported quoting a health official.
These new cases were recorded on Sunday, a jump of over 900 cases in a single day. On Saturday, Thane had reported 383 new COVID-19 cases.
The district currently has 5,425 active COVID-19 cases, the official said, adding that the recovery count has reached 7,06,708.
The death count in Thane remained unchanged at 11,902, the official said.

Tamil Nadu's daily coronavirus cases rose sharply as 1,472 infections were logged on Sunday, pushing the caseload to 34,68,344. The total number of deaths remained unchanged at 38,026 with no deaths recorded in last 24 hours.
