New Delhi: India recorded 11,793 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours, taking the total number of COVID-19 cases to 4,34,18,839. According to the Union Health Ministry data updated today, the active cases rose to 96,700.
The death count climbed to 5,25,047 with 27 new fatalities in India.
The active cases comprise 0.21 per cent of the total infections, while the national COVID-19 recovery rate was 98.58 per cent, the ministry said.

Six New COVID-19 Cases Recorded In Andamans
The COVID-19 tally of Andaman and Nicobar Islands rose to 10,137 today as six more people tested positive for the infection, a health bulletin said.
Five new patients have travel history, while one fresh infection was detected during contact tracing, it said.
The Union territory now has 35 active cases, while 9,973 people have recovered from the disease so far, including eight in the last 24 hours.
A total of 129 patients have succumbed to the infection to date.
The administration has thus far tested over 7.5 lakh samples for COVID-19, and fully vaccinated 3.41 lakh people.

Maharashtra's Thane Records 582 New COVID-19 Cases In 24 Hours
As many as 582 new cases of coronavirus have been detected in Maharashtra's Thane district, taking the tally of infections to 7,26,053, a health official said today.
With the addition of these cases on Monday, the district currently has 5,629 active COVID-19 cases, he said.
One death was also reported on Monday, raising the COVID-19 toll in the district to 11,903, he said.
The recovery count has reached 7,07,480, the official added.
