Coronavirus Highlights: India Logs 4,270 Covid Cases, 15 Related Deaths

Covid India Highlights: Of the 26 fresh fatalities, six were recorded in the last 24 hours and 20 reconciled by Kerala.

India Covid Highlights: The active cases now constitute 0.05 per cent of the total infections.

New Delhi:

India logged a single-day rise of 4,270 coronavirus infections and 15 fatalities, pushing the overall tally to 4,31,76,817 cases and 5,24,692 deaths, according to Union Health Ministry on Saturday.

The data updated at 8 am also stated that the number of active cases in the country increased by 1,636 in 24 hours to stand at 24,052.

The active cases now constitute 0.05 per cent of the total infections, the health ministry said, adding the country's overall COVID-19 recovery rate was recorded at 98.73 per cent.

Covid Update: Madhya Pradesh Records 44 COVID-19 Cases, No Deaths
The COVID-19 cases in Madhya Pradesh reached 10,42,779 on Sunday after the detection of 44 cases, while casualties stayed unchanged at 10,737 as no death was recorded in the last 24 hours, a health official said.

Delhi on Sunday logged 343 new COVID-19 cases with a positivity rate of 1.91 per cent while no new death was reported due to the viral disease, according to data shared by the city's health department.

As many as 63 new COVID-19 cases were reported in Telangana on Sunday taking that state's total numbers to 7,93,607.

Hyderabad reported the highest number of cases with 47, a Health department bulletin said.

As many as 47 people recuperated from the infection and the cumulative number of recoveries till date was 7,88,933.

Covid Update: Puducherry Records 5 New Covid Cases
The union territory of Puducherry logged five new coronavirus cases during the last 24 hours pushing the overall numbers to 1,65,895, a senior official of the Health Department said on Sunday.

The number of active cases stood at 41 while two patients recovered to take the overall recoveries to 1,63,892, he said.

9 new COVID-19 cases in Mizoram
Mizoram' COVID-19 tally reached 2,28,400 on Sunday as nine more people have tested positive for the infection, 10 less than the previous day, a health official said.

The death count remained unchanged at 700 as no new fatality was reported, he said.

The northeastern state now has 106 active cases, while 2,27,594 have recovered from the infection, including 22 persons since Saturday, he said.

256 new COVID-19 cases in Thane, no death

Thane has reported 256 new COVID-19 cases, raising the infection tally in the Maharashtra district to 7,10,842, an official said on Sunday. These new cases were recorded on Saturday, he said.

The death toll in the district remained unchanged at 11,895 and the COVID-19 mortality rate stood at 1.67 per cent, he said.

In neighbouring Palghar district, the COVID-19 case count stood at 1,63,612 and the death toll at 3,407, another official said.

One new COVID-19 case in Andamans

Andaman and Nicobar Islands have reported a new coronavirus case, pushing the tally to 10,048, a health department news agency PTI reported quoting officials. The fresh patient has a travel history, it said.

The death count in the archipelago remained at 129 as no new fatality due to the infection was reported in the last 24 hours.

One person recuperated from the disease during the period, taking the total number of recoveries in the Union Territory to 9,916, the official said.
