New Delhi: At least 1,829 new Covid cases reported on Wednesday, taking the total number of cases to 4,31,27,199. According to the Union Health Ministry, the active cases dipped to 15,647 in the last 24 hours.
India also reported 33 new Covid-related fatalities, bringing the total number of death court to 5,24,293.
The active cases stand at 15,647. A decrease of 753 cases has been recorded in the active COVID-19 caseload in a span of 24 hours.
A day earlier, the country had reported 1,569 new cases and 19 deaths.
The active cases comprised 0.04 per cent of the total infections, while the national COVID-19 recovery rate was recorded at 98.75 per cent, the ministry said.

Jammu and Kashmir Reports 6 New COVID Cases
Jammu and Kashmir reported 6 new COVID cases today taking the total infection count to 4,54,159, officials said.
Of the new cases, 3 were reported from Srinagar district while 2 were reported in Jammu district. The remaining 1 case was recorded in Kupwara district. There are 53 active cases while the overall recoveries have reached 4,49,354.
The COVID death count stands at 4,752 as no COVID-related death was reported in the last 24 hours.
There were 51 confirmed cases of mucormycosis (black fungus), officials said.

Madhya Pradesh Reports 37 New COVID Cases
Madhya Pradesh reported 37 new cases today, taking the overall case count to 10,42,024. No COVID-related death was reported in the state and the death count remained unchanged at 10,735, a health department official said.
The positivity rate stood at 0.6 per cent. There are 223 active cases in the state after 43 people recovered from the disease, taking the total number of recoveries to 10,21,063.
The government release said 11,83,76,540 COVID vaccine doses have been administered so far in the state, including 46,236 doses today.

Tamil Nadu Reports 36 New COVID Cases
Tamil Nadu today reported 36 new COVID cases, including a returnee from Africa, taking the total number of cases to 34,54,722.
The death count remained unchanged at 38,025 with zero fatalities getting reported in the last 24 hours.
Chennai accounted for the majority of new cases with 21, Chengalpet reported 3 cases, Cuddalore, Kancheepuram and Tiruchirapalli 6 cases.
The number of people who recovered from the disease rose to 34,16,376 with 39 more people getting discharged. Tamil Nadu currently has 321 active COVID-19 cases.

Covid Update: Odisha Records 13 New Covid Cases
Odisha recorded 13 more coronavirus cases on Tuesday, while there was no new fatality for a fortnight, the health department said. There are 123 active COVID-19 cases and eight more patients have recuperated from the disease, according to a bulletin.

"Ensure Last-Mile Coverage Of Beneficiaries": Delhi Government To Districts
The Delhi government has directed district magistrates to ensure effective last-mile coverage of those needed to be given second and precaution doses of covid vaccines. The government has made arrangements for free vaccination of people in the age group of 18 to 59 years, in addition to providing free precaution doses to those above 60, health care and frontline workers.
