India reported 3,275 new COVID-19 cases, taking the coronavirus tally to 4,30,91,393. The country also recorded 55 new covid-related fatalities, bringing the total number of deaths to 523,975.

According to the Health Ministry, the daily positivity rate stood at 1.07 per cent, while the weekly positivity rate was 0.70 per cent.

More than 3,000 people also recovered from the coronavirus, taking the total number of Covid recoveries in the country to 4,25,47,699.

Telangana records 44 new COVID-19 cases

Telangana on Thursday recorded 44 new COVID-19 cases, taking the total number of cases in the State to 7,92,191 so far, a bulletin said.

No fresh fatality due to the infection was reported today and the death toll continued to be 4,111, it said.

Hyderabad recorded the highest number of 31 cases.

Mumbai records 130 COVID-19 cases, highest daily rise since February

Mumbai on Thursday recorded 130 new COVID-19 cases, the highest daily rise since February, an official from the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) said.

It took the tally of infections recorded in India's financial capital so far to 10,60,317.

No pandemic-related death was recorded in Mumbai on Thursday.

Delhi records 1,365 COVID-19 cases, zero fatality; positivity rate at 6.35 per cent

Delhi recorded 1,365 COVID-19 cases and zero fatality due to the infection on Thursday, while the positivity rate was 6.35 per cent, according to data shared by the city health department.

A total of 21,501 tests were conducted in the city on Wednesday, it stated.

With the new cases, the national capital's overall COVID-19 infection tally rose to 18,89,769, while the death toll remained at 26,177, the data showed.

Daily COVID-19 infections again go over 50 in Tamil Nadu

Daily COVID-19 infections in Tamil Nadu surged past the 50-mark once again, with 58 people testing positive, including two returnees from UAE and New Delhi respectively, aggregating to 34,54,153 the health department said on Thursday.

On April 29, Tamil Nadu reported 54 new cases. Since then, it has been below 50 with 37 infections recorded on Wednesday (yesterday).

The overall death toll remained unchanged at 38,025 with nil fatalities being recorded in the last 24 hours, a bulletin said.

Gujarat logs 25 new COVID-19 cases; active tally at 121

With the addition of 25 coronavirus positive cases on Thursday, Gujarat's infection tally reached 12,24,429, the state health department said.

As no death linked to the infection was reported during the day, the fatality count in the state remained unchanged at 10,943, it said, adding that 14 persons recovered in the last 24 hours, taking the count of such individuals to 12,13,365.

The number of active cases in Gujarat now stands at 121.

Coronavirus: 26 new cases in Madhya Pradesh, no death

The COVID-19 tally in Madhya Pradesh reached 10,41,600 on Thursday following the detection of 26 new cases, a health official said.

The death toll remained unchanged at 10,735 as no fresh casualty was reported during the day, he said.

The case positivity rate stood at 0.4 per cent.

COVID-19: Two new cases in Chhattisgarh, no fresh fatality, active tally now 37

Chhattisgarh on Thursday reported two new coronavirus positive cases, taking the state's tally to 11,52,296, while the death toll remained unchanged at 14,034 as no fatality was reported during the day, an official said.

The case positivity rate of the state stood at 0.05 per cent, he said.

The recovery count in Chhattisgarh rose to 11,38,225 after 10 people completed their home isolation during the day, leaving the state with 37 active cases, he said.

"Raipur and Jashpur recorded one case each, but no case was reported in 26 other districts in the state. As on Thursday, no active case was reported in 16 districts in the state," the official said.

18 New COVID-19 Cases In Odisha In 24 Hours

Odisha recorded 18 more coronavirus cases on Thursday, while there was no new fatality for the third consecutive day, the health department said.

There are 99 active COVID-19 cases now and 11 more patients have recuperated from the disease, according to a bulletin.

The daily positivity rate was 0.11 per cent and four children were among the newly infected, it said, adding that 15,933 samples were tested in the past 24 hours.

The state had logged 10 infections and zero death on Wednesday. The count stood at 9,126 and these are confirmed as Covid deaths after an audit. Fifty-three other coronavirus patients have died due to comorbidities so far, according to data.

The tally rose to 12,88,103, including 12,78,825 recoveries, it added.

Mizoram Reports 45 New COVID-19 Cases In Last 24 Hours

Mizoram reported 45 fresh COVID-19 cases today, raising the tally to 2,27,645, a health department official said.

The number of deaths remained at 697 as no new fatality was reported in the past 24 hours, he said. It had logged 44 fresh infections on Wednesday.

The state's daily positivity rate stood at seven per cent.

Mizoram now has 408 active cases, while 2,26,540 people have recovered from the disease so far, the official said.

The state has thus far tested more than 19.23 lakh samples for COVID-19.

According to State Immunisation Officer Lalmuanawma Jongte, over 8.49 lakh people have been inoculated till Wednesday.
