India saw a single-day rise of 2,119 new infections taking the coronavirus tally to 4,46,38,636, while the number of active cases has declined to 25,037, according to the Union Health Ministry data updated on Friday.
The death count has climbed to 5,28,953 with 10 fatalities which includes five deaths reconciled by Kerala, the data updated at 8 am stated.
The active cases comprise 0.06 per cent of the total infections, while the national COVID-19 recovery rate has increased to 98.76 per cent, the health ministry said.
A decrease of 473 cases has been recorded in the active COVID-19 caseload in a span of 24 hours.
The daily positivity rate was recorded at 1.13 per cent. The weekly positivity rate was recorded at 0.97 per cent, according to the health ministry.

Odisha's COVID-19 tally rose to 13,35,808 on Saturday as 57 more people, including eight children, tested positive for the infection, a health bulletin said.
Odisha now has 448 active cases, while 13,26,105 people have recovered from the disease to date, including 74 in the last 24 hours.
Maharashtra on Friday reported 402 Covid cases, which took the tally in the state to 81,29,507, while the total death count remained unchanged at 1,48,378, a health official said.
The recovery count rose by 485 in the last 24 hours to touch 79,78,562, leaving the state with an active tally of 2,567, he said.
Mumbai accounted for 161 of the new cases, the official added.
State health department data revealed the recovery rate was 98.14 per cent and the fatality rate stood at 1.82 per cent.
Tamil Nadu on Friday reported 222 new Covid cases, pushing the statewide tally to 35,90,238, the health department said.
There were no fresh fatalities and the overall death count in the state remained unchanged at 38,048, a medical bulletin said here.
As many as 410 people recovered in the last 24 hours, aggregating to 35,48,686 leaving 3,504 active infections in the state.
Six districts logged the majority of new cases with Chennai leading at 55 while the remaining districts reported new infections below 10. Karur, Perambalur, Theni, and Tirupathur, recorded zero new cases each.
Mumbai on Friday reported 161 new coronavirus infections and zero Covid-related deaths, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) said in a release.
It took the tally of Covid cases in the city to 11,53,153, and the total death count to 19,738.
On Thursday, Mumbai logged 147 new Covid cases and zero fatalities.
As many as 5,900 coronavirus tests were conducted since the previous evening. The tally of tests conducted so far went up to 1,84,18,471.
A day before, 5,122 Covid tests were conducted in the city.
