The death count climbed to 5,29,024 with eight fatalities which includes five deaths reconciled by Kerala, the data updated at 8 am stated.
The active cases comprise 0.04 per cent of the total infections, while the national COVID-19 recovery rate increased to 98.78 per cent, the ministry said.

Odisha's COVID-19 tally rose to 13,36,132 on Monday as 15 more people, including two children, tested positive for the infection, a health department bulletin said.
The death toll remained at 9,203 as no new fatality due to the infection was reported in the last 24 hours, it said.
