India reported 7,081 fresh COVID-19 cases and 264 deaths in the last 24 hours, informed the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on Sunday. The country's active caseload currently stands at 83,913, lowest in 570 days.
According to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW), the active cases in the country account for less than 1 per cent of total cases, currently at 0.24 per cent which is the lowest since March last year.
Meanwhile, the Health Ministry issued a statement saying, "India's COVID-19 vaccination coverage has crossed 137 crore landmark milestone (137,37,66,189) today. More than 69 lakh (69,21,097) vaccine doses have been administered till 7 pm today. The daily vaccination tally is expected to increase with the compilation of the final reports for the day by late tonight."

With 15 fresh cases, the COVID-19 tally in Madhya Pradesh rose to 7,93,489 on Sunday, while the recovery count increased to 7,82,779 after 14 patients were discharged from hospitals, a health official said.
The death count remained unchanged at 10,529 as no fatality was reported during the day.
Delhi today reported over a hundred cases of coronavirus in 24 hours - the highest daily spike in nearly six months. On June 25, the national capital had recorded 115 cases in a day.

Andaman and Nicobar Islands achieved 100 per cent double-dose COVID-19 vaccination coverage, becoming the first State/UT to achieve the milestone using only Covisheild, informed the Andaman and Nicobar Islands Administration on Sunday. The UT administration stated that the COVID-19 vaccination in Andaman and Nicobar Islands had started along with the national vaccination programme launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on January 16, with health care staff and frontline workers being the first to receive the vaccine.
No fresh COVID-19 case was registered in Arunachal Pradesh for the second consecutive day on Sunday, while four more patients were cured of the disease. Arunachal Pradesh's COVID-19 tally remained unchanged at 55,320, while the number of active cases dipped to 26, and the total number of recoveries stood at 55,014. The death count also remained unchanged at 280. The recovery rate among the coronavirus patients in the state marginally improved to 99.45 per cent from 99.44 on the previous day.

Thane has added 104 new cases of coronavirus, raising the infection tally in the Maharashtra district to 5,71,122 on Sunday. These new cases were reported on Saturday. The virus also claimed the life of one more person, which pushed the death count in the district to 11,600 adding that the COVID-19 mortality rate in Thane is 2.03 per cent.
